This science lesson is a very asic lesson. Students will en&oy hearin# the oo" and also the completin# the !inial cra!t activity. This lesson involves no pre$re'uisite "nowled#e esides "nowin# what a pump"in is or loo"s li"e. This lesson is very developmentally appropriate ecause students will e #uided with help and the activity will also e modeled !or them.

0rocedures: 1. Students will e seated on the carpet. ( will rie!ly e,plain to them what we will e learnin# a out. - ( want to tal" to you a little it today a out a li!e cycle% speci!ically the li!e cycle o! a pump"in ecause it.s !all./ 2. -)irst ( want to read to you a oo" called -0rowin# Pump"ins./ ( will then read the oo". 3. 1!ter the oo" ( am #oin# to do two wor" sheets on the smart oard. The students will e as"ed to !ill in the lan"s y raisin# their hand i! they have an answer. ( will write their answers on the smart oard. ( will redirect their answers i! what they are sayin# is not 'uite a ri#ht answer. 2. 3e!ore students move ac" to their seats ( will review the li!ecycle o! a pump"in. ( will also answer and 'uestions that the children may have. 1!ter this students will move ac" to their seats to e#in the cra!t. 4. ( will model the cra!t activity !or the students step y step and they will complete the steps alon# with me so they will "now how to complete it correctly. 5. 6hen students have complete the cra!t they will then tell me what each step o! the li!ecycle process is called. 7. The students will e interested in these activities. They love learnin# and they love ma"in# thin#s. ( chose to incorporate a cra!t ecause it is more li"e !un or !ree time to them rather than a wor" sheet. This plays up to their rowdiness ecause it is not somethin# that they need to e e,tremely 'uiet while doin#. ( am usin# the smart oard !or an activity to "eep the "ids !rom completin# another wor"sheet. ( will e the only one usin# the smart oard.
