Thanksgiving Blues

For Cantata Ricardo Saul LaRosa 24 November 2013

What does it mater? That Providence has dealt her cards Against us Against our blossoming romance Fate neither pro nor con In human affairs Just cosmic karma manifesting Its poetic justice Perhaps I loved her too soon Causing her to heart it shield itself From sentiments unknown To her soul What does it mater? That this Thanksgiving dinner She will not grace my world With her alluring presence

That my heart shall weigh heavy upon my soul That tears shall fall from my eyes For I miss her immensely More than words can ever express What does it mater? That a great emptiness overwhelms my life Without her in this realm Without her fingers caressing me No matter how far she be My love engulfs every part of her being My Spirit entwines inseparable with hers Reminding her how much she is loved In the greater scheme of this reality It matters not that she is not with me What matters most is that I love her ardently And that in her own special sweet manner She loves me too!
