for our book is to be able to ro!ide information on the life cycle of a butterfly that "ould be interacti!e and fun# Thus$ this book could be used in a classroom that is learning the unit on life cycles# %or instance$ the teacher could ha!e their students read this book as a art of an introduction lesson# &e created this book for students "ho are in third grade$ since third grade is the grade that students learn about life cycles$ according to the 'e(t )eneration Science Standards# *o"e!er$ this book is not limited to +ust third graders$ as anyone "ho is interested in reading about the life cycle of a butterfly is "elcome to read it$ articularly lo"er elementary students# Creating this book "as !ery fun and interesting# &e en+oyed creating the story for the students and thinking of "ays of ho" this book "ould be accessible for students "ith disabilities# %or e(am le$ "e liked ho" the ,-L Book Builder site allo"s you to make a glossary$ so that you can ro!ide the definition to any of the "ords you "ant# Also$ not only can you ro!ide the "ritten definition$ but also the definition in an audio form# This feature is es ecially beneficial to struggling readers# &e also liked ho" using the Book Builder "ebsite allo"s other teachers to use our book that "e ha!e created# Although "e en+oyed creating this book through the ,-L Book Builder "ebsite$ "e found a fe" as ects challenging# At first$ "e "ere not sure ho" to na!igate the site$ since none of us had used it re!iously# Thus$ it took us e(tra time to learn ho" to use the "ebsite before "e could build our book# The main challenge that "e found "as adding our !oices to the resentation since "e had to record our !oices using a recording a on an i.od Touch# After

"e recorded our !oices$ "e then had to sa!e each audio file to iTunes$ in order to con!ert the file to an M./ form$ since the "ebsite only allo"s the audio to be sa!ed as M./# Besides ha!ing to record and u load our !oices$ "e did not find any other challenges "ith this "ebsite and creating our book# To run and read our book$ 0Blossom the Cater illar$1 "e used the bro"ser Safari$ TTS rogram bookbuilder#cast#org$ and M./ files using the 2oice Memos i.od touch a # &hen "e "ere done creating our book through the book builder "ebsite$ "e "ere able to ublish it# This ga!e us a s ecific link to our digital book# Then$ o ening the link through Safari 3or 4nternet E( lorer for .C5$ "e "ere able to see the finished roduct# Each age can be read using the M./ u load$ located at the bottom of the dis layed age# After ressing the lay icon$ the age is read aloud# Each indi!idual age has its o"n M./ u load "hich makes the te(t to s eech o tion for each age o tional$ but it also enables the reader to go at their o"n ace# This book could hel a student "ith a mild disability because it reads the te(t and allo"s the student to follo" along# This "ould hel a student that had a learning disability because they are able to learn the story through listening# They "ould be able to air the s oken "ords to the "ritten "ords and it "ould be easier for the student to understand "hat the story is about because they don6t ha!e to focus as much on decoding the "ords# This im ro!es fluency and com rehension# &e tested our book "ith one of our mentor teachers$ "ho ha en to ha!e a fe" students "ith mild learning disabilities in her class# The teacher thought the book "as a really good idea# She didn6t ha!e much trouble na!igating the book$ and did mention that the book "as !ery a ro riate for younger children# She thought the !oices reading the book read clearly and at a slo" ace# She thought that the story had good educational !alue$ and that the ictures

guided the student6s learning because they illustrated "hat the te(t "as e( laining# 7!erall$ she thought that this book "as ut together nicely#
