PROJECT OVERVIEW

Cancer continues to kill over 7 million people worldwide every year. The Project Data Sphere initiative provides a broadly accessible, easy-to-use, voluntary research database. This platform allows companies, institutions and independent researchers to responsibly share, integrate and analyze historical, phase III, comparator-arm oncology clinical data. This data will include both academic and commercial trials to accelerate future cancer research. Data sets, protocols, blank CRFs and descriptors are available from AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sanofi. Other organizations including Bayer, Celgene, Johnson & Johnson, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center are currently preparing data for entry. The initiative worked with leading legal,

technology, and privacy experts, as well as clinicians, industry, patient representatives and others to build an optimal transversal platform. The platform leverages this expertise to address many historical obstacles to data sharing including privacy and intellectual property, together with providing uniform legal agreements governing sharing and use, state-of-the-art analytics and a straight-forward infrastructure. SAS Clinical Data Integration, SAS Drug Development, and SAS Visual Analytics Explorer have been incorporated directly into the database for use by authorized users. Future developments include incorporation of social technology, plus research challenges. as leaders in innovation such as Sage Bionetworks, to advance science Project Data Sphere, LLC is a non-profit organization, and is an independent initiative of the CEO Roundtable on Cancers Life Sciences Consortium. For more details visit www.projectdatasphere.org, or email info@projectdatasphere.org. These

challenges will be driven in association with advocacy groups like Prostate Cancer Foundation as well
