Congressional Handbook Project

In groups of 3 you will work together to research and create a Congressional Handbook. This handbook will contain all of the necessary information anyone would need if they were to suddenly find themselves filling the role of a member of the United States Congress. If you were in that position, what might you need to know? Through this project you will be giving background on just what Congress is and you will be providing procedural information on how Congress carries out its role in government. You will need to start by creating a table of contents to organize your manual. You will include material from chapters 10, 11, and 12 from your book. Below is a minimum list of topics that should be included. Some topics are very general such as Expressed Powers. You will need to fully explain all of these topics and provide ample details and examples. There is an entire section in your book about Expressed Powers, you should not have one sentence or even one paragraph for this broad topic. Also remember to point out the Big Ideas where appropriate. Each person in the group will be responsible for the material of one of the chapters. You may use Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Livebinders.com, or Prezi. Remember that your final product must be turned into me in print or digital form. Once each of your parts is complete be sure to compile it all into one document that can be submitted. Also be sure to put your name on the parts that you are responsible for. The complete project will provide you with a great study aid for the summative wrap-up that will follow completion of this project. Your group members are depending on your work to give them correct, accurate information as you are on theres.
