Esteem Youth Foundation- Changemakers Confluence 2013.

Conference ReportThe National Event Changemakers Confluence was organized by the Esteem Youth Foundation on 21st September 2013 at the Sharda Auditorium at RK Ashram. The national event was attended by 100+ delegates and 6 elite speakers who are leaders in their respective fields. The event began by welcoming the speaker with bouquets followed by lightening of the candle for an auspicious beginning to the event. The host for the event Kaarika Das welcomed all the delegates and speakers. The founder of Esteem Youth Foundation Mr Gaurav Agarwalla gave the opening speech reflecting the objectives of the organization as, youth empowerment and upliftment of underprivileged youth. The official presentation of the organization was shown reflecting on the past initiatives such as, Research internship, Aadhar and Be the Change contest organized by the organization. The first speaker for the event was Captain Abhimanyu, National Spokesperson of BJP conducted the session on Way to Parliament. He reflected on the importance of youth participation in politics. No matter how much the Indian political system is criticized its important for the youth to be part of the political system to enforce changes in the system. The session involved interesting questions asked by the delegates and were responded well by the speaker. The second speaker for the event was Prof. Jadeep S. Chokar Director In charge of IIM Ahmedabad and Founder of Association of Democratic Reforms. He took the session Change makers Take. This session was the most interactive during the entire event. The speaker spoke on how politics creates difficulties for common man in almost all aspects of life and reflected on the entire election process. But, he still persisted that its important for the youth to participate in the politics and create ways to emphasize relevant impact.

The third speaker was Adv Ashok Agarwal , Senior Counsel of Supreme Court and RTE activist. He took the session on Law- Gateway to Activism. The speaker reflected by using real examples on how law can be used effectively leading to social impact especially in the field of education. After the lunch break, the event resumed with a stimulating Quiz conducted by Center for Civil Society which was aimed at understanding the point of view of youth on Governments role in personal issues of common man and economic session. The next session on Youth-o-nomics. The speaker for this session was Harsh Srivastava, Former advisor Planning Commission, CEO of Center for Civil Society. It was again a highly interactive session. The speaker presented views on Why is India Poor? The Last session was conducted by Mr. Shantanu Gupta Founder of Yuva, Director for Center for Civil Society. The speaker reflected his views on Enterpreuship. The session was highly reflective and the speaker emphasized on the relevance of creating new business ideas from daily life problems. Towards the closure of the event, all the delegates were felicitated with certificates of participation. The aim of the conference to provide a youth platform which could lead to youth empowerment was finally met.
