Required Education and Training When you are trying to become a teacher you could get a bachelors or Masters degree, and any other higher degree and if you are planning on working at a public school teacher you also need a state-issued certification or license. Skills and Aptitudes Required You need to have plenty of patience when becoming a teacher. Teachers usually spend many evening and weekend hours preparing lessons and grading assignments. Starting Salary and Future Earnings The starting salary for a teacher is different for each degree you get. For a bachelors degree you start off making $32722 and future you can make up to $44916. A masters degree you could start with $ 51192 and future could be $69859. Higher qualifications you can make as much as $79318. Work Environment The work environment for a teacher depends on the subject they teach, high school teachers may work in classrooms, science labs, computer labs, or machine shops.
