Warm Up Activity: 8 mins

Capture the Flag

Hide and seek. Students find a partner and nominate to be the hider or the
seeker. On the first whistle the all of the hiders will start moving/running around the designated area. On the 2nd whistle the seekers will then go and try to find their partner. When they have found their partner they tag them, they close their eyes and spin around 3 times. Their partner now becomes the seeker. Repeat 3-4 times or until they are all exhausted. Main Activity: 40 mins Capture the Flag: 2 x teams wearing tag belts. Lots of cones. Each team will set up a designated area where their flag will be (10m diameter). Ey will then place their Flag or other piece of equipment in the middle of this area. Each team will then set up a jail which is to be no closer than 10m to the flag. The aim is to invade the oppositions territory and capture their flag and take it back to your own area without being caught. Version 1: On the whistle both teams are free to attack. Cannot be tagged inside you own half of the playing area. If a tag is ripped off then you go to the opposing teams jail. They place the tag with the jail keeper. Players can be freed from the jail by someone in their own team who comes and gives them a high 5. If the 2nd tag is ripped off then you are taken to the jail. Players cannot be freed from jail without any tags on. The winning team is the one that gets the opposing teams Flag back to their own half. Version 2:

On the whistle both teams are free to attack. Players can be tagged in any part of the field You can increase the number of items that a team needs to collect to win the game. Items can include various balls, soccer, AFL, netball, tennis.
