lways ask for help. If I am busy, do not wait for me. Ask a classmate. This is a cooperative learning environment. We are all new to using InDesign and we learn how to use the program at different rates. You are foolish not to ask for help. Weve all been in your shoes (including me, the Langster) and understand the challenges of learning new software and design skills. You can do it, I believe in you (thats why I created this assignment).

This project will also work hand in hand with that CU4Reality program that weve started:

A feature story that ties into the cover, lasting at least two pages. Your feature story has to show you dressed up in that field, as a cutout. Your cover must also show you on the cover, dressed as your future career in a different pose than you used for your feature spread. n Your feature story has to include these key points in the story that you create: description of career, qualifications, education needed, employers, starting out, advancement, earnings, work environment, outlook for the future & for more information, leading readers to more research. Consistent design at top of page connecting all department pages Taking from our text book, Business Writing skills count in the work world. On pages 206-207, you will need to include two examples of the four examples given in your magazine and write a paragraph that explains each example plus a paragraph that ties the page together. n You need to include the five writing basics on page 205 as a sidebar of information.

Commands

Not all commands are created equal, but they do deserve a happy face. They help your work flow and make your life easier. J

One paragraph, at least five sentances describing your reflection over what youve learned about yourself from going through this process. n Any image that you did not take with your camera or any piece of text that you did not write yourself needs to be given credit on the back cover of the magazine. Use the words Works Cited and make a bullet point list to contain your work, by page. The way that you design this section is up to you, but you do need to seperate everything by pages.

Step D Begin your InDesign work. Drop all 16 pages into your document. Copy/Paste your department page graphics into place. Work page by page.

My message to you: Ive enjoyed working with page design software for a very long time and hope that you catch the InDesign bug. I will help you to create a successful project any way that I can!

Some of you will love this project and others may (clear throat), but at the very least you will have an appreciation for what news designers do when you pick up a magazine or newspaper. You will also have a very cool souvenir from your days in this class. I wish you a peaceful learning experience from this challenge. I know that you will grow as a person from this assignment. I am here to help you have the best experience from this opportunity. I wish you the best of luck!
