Model Student Award – Sam Kee Qin Xiang

Sam is a passionate learner and leader who gives his best in all areas of life. Always
challenging himself to attain higher levels of accomplishment, Sam has contributed to
the school while still performing well in his studies and co-curricular activities.

As Captain of the school’s Track and Field team, Sam has to lead, co-ordinate, inspire
and unify the school’s athletes into the formidable force that they are in sports. In a
personal capacity, he has represented the school and the Singapore Combined Schools
team in several national and inter-state competitions, earning medals and accolades for
the school and nation. In 2007, he was also conferred the Colours Award in recognition
of his achievements.

Sam also shines in the areas of academics and service to the school. As an avid
Humanities Programme student, Sam has organized seminars for the Humanities
Seminar Series and the Humanities International Forum Series. He has also taken part
in several Model United Nations conferences and he will be Secretary-General of the
Model ASEAN Summit 2009. In addition, Sam has also served the school as a Master
of Ceremony for school events such as Projects Day Grand Finals and CCA
Appreciation Day. In his spare moments, he works with disadvantaged youths from the
Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore.

As a modern teen who seeks a healthy balance in life, Sam is an accomplished and all-
rounded young man. We are proud to present to you, Sam Kee Qin Xiang!
