TIME

SEQUENCE OF LESSON Attendance: Ss will enter the gym and report to their attendance spot. Attendance will be taken and then Ss will go into the locker room to change for class. Transition: Ss will go into the locker rooms to change, and then go outside to the football field and report to the teacher an await intruction.
Warmup: Start and stop whistle signal will be explained. Signals: One whistle, Stop and look at teacher and wait for instruction. Three whistles, gather around teacher. Students will play a game of circle the wagons. Students will pair up and form two separate circles (each circle with 7-8 pairs) around 5-10 balls. Each student will stand one behind the other; the closest student to the ball will have their legs spread. Teacher will say either Up or Circle the wagons. Up means for the back student to jump up. Circle the wagons means the back student to run around the circle of students until they get back to their partner. They must dive or crawl through their partners legs and grab a ball from the middle to stay in the game. Students knocked out of the game will move to coned area to play tag. Demo #1 Halfback Option The QB will hike the ball, take one step toward the right and then toss/pitch the ball to the RB who is moving to their right. The WR will run a deep square in route across the field. The QB will go down the left sideline as a receiver. The RB can either proceed to run or he may throw to the QB or WR or WR2. Variations: If the running back is a lefty, the play will be flipped. Transition: Students will have 10 seconds to divide into teams of 3 or 4. (ten teams total) Two teams will be at each field. Demo #2 - Reverse The QB will hike the ball and take a step to his right and then toss the ball to the RB. The RB while moving to the right will hand the ball off to the WR who is circling back the other direction. The WR will

proceed to run up field to gain as much yards as possible. If there is a second WR then they should run a square in route to move the defender away from that side of the field. Activity #1: Students will report back to their fields. They will run HB Option and Reverse that was demonstrated prior. Each for 2.5 minutes each. Each student will rotate roles/positions in the play and will have played each position at least twice. No Defense will be played. Transition: Students will leave the balls at their field and report to the teacher for the next demo. Demo #3 Flea Flicker The QB will hike the ball and drop back to hand the ball off to the RB, proceed to move behind the RB. The RB moving straight ahead will take one or two steps and toss the ball back to the QB. Both WRs will run fly routes down opposite sidelines. The QB will then throw the ball to either receiver. Activity #2: Students will report back to their fields. They will run Flea Flicker that was demonstrated prior. Each student will rotate roles/positions in the play and will have played each position at least twice. No Defense will be played. Transition: Students will leave the balls at the field and report to the teacher for further instruction. Instruction: Teacher will explain the ladder tournament format. the ladder will stay on their field, and loser of the bottom ladder will stay on theirs. One whistle will signal rotation. All ties will be settled by rock, paper, and scissors. Activity #3: Students will report back to their fields. Ladder format tournament. Students will play 3v3 or 4v4 games of 4 minutes. Winners more clockwise, loser move counter clockwise. Teams will get four downs to get a touchdown. If all four down are used, one of the plays must be either HB Option, Reverse, or Flea Flicker.
