ANNA: Said to be large-framed girl (10)who found employment with a
gardener when she & parents were stranded in Baltimore, working for
money to get to Cleveland. Unfortunately, he mistreated her & her mother
walked 3 miles to bring her home. The whole family worked to get to
Cleveland by Sept. 1846. More of her story is in Green Book, pgs 56+.
Widowed when her husband, Ernst, died by drowning, she married two years
later

KS. Died when his rowboat with six passengers capsized in
floor swollen waters at Bean Lake. The other younger
children, ages 12 and 13, survived. They had been bicycling
and decided to take a row boat on the waters. Evan was
described as 6 ft. tall and 210 lbs and had graduated from
Atchison High in 1942. He was doing post-graduate work at
the school in aeronautics and mathematics prepatory to
entering the army in May. While a senior, he took track and
football. Worked in his father's store and print shop,

printed at his printing company in Ft Worth, Texas. After Martha's
death, he married again and retired (twice, he says) from his business.
He and Toney enjoy grandchildren and traveling throughout the United
States and overseas. He says a new book is coming out soon.
MARTHA: Martha and Paul met while both were in the US Marines and
married while in the service. Upon his discharge, they tried but were
unable to find housing in Los Angeles.They moved near Ft Worth to be
near her parents and purchased a weekly newspaper in Mansfield, TX. 3
years later, they moved to Ft Worth, where he worked on the Fort Worth
Press, the Star-Telegram, & the All Church Press, as a linotype
operator. In 1962, established the Printing Center.
