What is the story behind the current National Anthem Advance Australia Fair? Discuss some of the issues facing children in the Wyong area. Do they shape their identity? Complete a Y chart whilst you visualise becoming an Australian Citizen on Australia Day. Share images of Australian flora and fauna and explain how they have shaped our identity.

Examine a famous Australian poem and turn it into a song/rap or dance. Examine how some people are disadvantaged due to discrimination, racism or prejudice. List ways in which you could help new arrivals at the school who have different cultural origins to you. Design your own personal coat of arms using your favourite Australian flora and fauna.

Analyse the different sounds and instruments used in Aboriginal music. Prepare interview questions and then interview guest speaker on Australian Identity. Design a survey which will provide answers to What is Australian?

Propose new words to the National Anthem using the same tune. Devise a play based on an important event from recent history in Australia. Create a Tagxedo illustrating what makes you unique.

Judge the new National Anthems for suitability and creativity. Impersonate a famous Australian audience to try and guess who it is. Assess media images of Australia. Which images do you think at most and/or least value to the development of our identity? Use an elimination draw to decide which Australian flora or fauna best represents our Australian identity.
