With LCAS the bandwidth of the VC-Group (i.e. the number of the
concatenated VC-n) can be changed dynamically without traffic loss.
This is done by adding or removing VCs to or from the VC-Group.
The GFP-F channels are adjusted at the ingress port of the Ethernet card.

Siemens:
SURPASS hiT 7070: At it’s release date the SURPASS hiT 7070 will be of a much more modern desing
than the products presented in this analysis. Based on the expectation of a highly increasing market for
data connections (LAN interconnection, VLANs, Internet Traffic etc..) the SURPASS hiT 7070 design is
dedicated to support data transport in the most economic way. Technologies like Generic Framing
Procedure (GFP), Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) combined with
the reliability and robustness of SDH networks allow SURPASS hiT 7070 to back that increase of data
connections and traffic by the most modern technology available with a quality of service no other
technology can offer. Customers are going to be enabled by SURPASS hiT 7070 to transport data signal
and standard voice based traffic over one single platform and therefore reducing their operational costs
dramatically. Additionally the planned cost structure of SURPASS hiT 7070 will outperform most of the
afore mentioned competing products and make SURPASS hiT 7070 also the product of choice in a
classical SDH environment.
