Program Title: Worker's Compensation Commission Title 22 Chapter 9

Activity Description:
The Commission is tasked with the responsibility of administering the Workers' Compensation Commission Law and
Regulations (22 GCA Section 9104) which, in part states: "Compensation shall be payable under this title in the case
of disability or death of an employee, but only if the disability or death results form an injury sustained while engaged
in industrial employment or public employment or both........"

Major Objective(s):

WCC benefits include payment for medical, surgical, and attendant services, wage loss replacement (Temporary
Disability), compensation for loss of or loss of use of a body part or function (Permanent Disability), death benefits to
surviving dependents, and vocational rehabilitation and prosthetics.

Short-term Goals:
Bring computer system to full automation in generating quarterly/yearly injury and financial reports. Fill vacancies
within the commission. Hire additional staff. Promote awareness through regularly scheduled trainings to both the
public and private sector. Pursue and assess appropriate penalties to employers who fail to file their reports in a timely
manner or secure proper WC insurance. Aggressively pursue autonomous departments/agencies to provide
reimbursement/payment for medical obligations incurred by clients.
