24 September 2013

Dear Mr Purnell,

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your follow-up phone call requesting further information about the quality of my professional skills; including Communication. As requested please find attached a website that outlines in detail: A review of contemporary literature of my professional skills Evidence of my highly effective practise of these skills A post of discussion in my course Moodle website of a brief statement on the literature related to Communication. This website is referenced and is written in APA writing style.

In addition, with my current completion of my teaching Internship and my employment at Youth Lifestyle Options, I strongly believe that this is a career path I wish to pursue. I find that I am an extremely motivated and an enthusiastic team player and have enjoyed my time immensely in the classroom and look forward to teaching my own class in the near future.

I believe, I would be a suitable candidate for this role as I enjoy this type of work where, I would be working with the students and their educational needs as well as transitioning them into meaningful employment, school based apprenticeships, traineeships and work experience opportunities. I have had recent experience in a similar role working on the S2J Project and pride myself on my ability to perform well

in this area. Thus, in this role I have demonstrated an ability in designing programs and implementing strategies for employers and students to enhance the students employment prospects. An example of this can be seen in my reference from Marie Keating the Quality Assurance Manager at CTC.

I have included my practicum reports from my Mentor Teachers and Lead Learning Manager that also demonstrate my ability and my love of working with young people and obtaining educational goals. I am a hardworking person who is driven and well presented. Furthermore, I am a quick learner that can follow instructions and am able to work as part of a team but also can work on my own. I adhere to workplace health and safety regulations within the industry.

Therefore, as I have worked in schools for the past six years and completed placements I have a working knowledge of the Prep to year 7 National Curriculum and the Secondary Schools Senior Phase program and Australian Vocational Education and Training system. I have also had to liaise with the University, TAFE and other job preparation programs and job assistance agencies whilst working in my last two positions. When I was a branch team leader for IDEAL Placements in Mackay and the project coordinator for S2J with CTC I have had to commit to a high level of interpersonal and communication skills as evidenced with the successful outcomes with past clients, students and employers being satisfied with my abilities and work ethic.

As a result, these positions have lead me to have a high level of administration as I had to continuously document details about meetings with clients and the services I provided to Government bodies, with the S2J role I had to report to my CEO, Quality Assurance Manager and DEEDI. This entailed writing detailed monthly reports, collecting data and an organised filing system and always meeting time constraints of when the paper work was due. I understand that this role requires professionalism, loyalty, confidentiality and the ability to communicate effectively at

all levels. I am flexible and enjoy dealing with students, parents and staff with a proactive approach.

Please find attached my resume with the detail, required skills, and background you seek. I would also welcome the opportunity for an interview at your convenience, and I thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I can be contacted on my mobile: 0447 445 888.

Sincerely,

Tara Griffin
