Power-On Self-Test (POST) Errors


WheneverarecoverableerroroccursduringPOST,theBIOSdisplays anerrormessagedescribingtheproblem. Ifasystembootisincomplete(forexample,thesystemisturnedoff whileitisgoingthroughthePOST),thenthenexttimethesystemis poweredonyoumaygetamessagestatingthatthepreviousbootwas incomplete.TheBIOSwillreverttosafevaluesforthechipset,caches, I/Ocomponents,etc.Thisprovidesthebestpossibilityofreturningto theSetuproutineandtonormalfunctioning,butthesevaluesdonot alwaysproducemaximumsystemperformance.Toachievemaximum performanceaftertheBIOShasrevertedtosafevalues,reenterSetup andselectthemaximumperformancevalues. If,forexample,theterminalwassimplyturnedoffduringPOST,you canreturntothemaximumperformancevaluesbysimplyentering Setupandexitingorbyrebooting.
