There is No Right Answer Calendar Honors (Pre-AP) English I Jen Roseman & Andrew Holder Unit Summary: There

is No Right Answer is a 7-week-long unit during which students will read and respond to arguments on a variety of current and historic issues to understand argument and the art of rhetoric and to begin to write their own arguments. The guiding questions of this study are: How can I recognize strong and weak arguments as I encounter them in daily life? How am I persuaded by arguments? When and how can I make strong arguments? How does understanding argument make me a stronger person?

In order to answer these guiding questions, students will read, watch, and listen to a variety of written, visual, and auditory texts and demonstrate their understanding by writing an argumentative analysis of a collection of texts.
