Mentor Program
Parent Advocacy Training
The Massachusetts AG Bell Mentor Program is as exciting as ever. We have three separate mentor programs: Bell Tots, for children 4-7, Bells Kids for children aged 8-12 and the Teen program is for those aged 13-17. We have one person dedicated to the task of running each respective program, with events every couple of months at locations around Massachusetts. Children and teens alike can become part of the program to spend time with other individuals with hearing loss. This is especially beneficial to the child or teenager, as he can have someone they can identify with. Parents also tap into the ability to speak to other parents who have children with hearing loss. E-mail massagbell@gmail.com to get information on the program.

What is P.A.T? P.A.T. is designed to help parents build the knowledge and confidence they need to negotiate 2 and advocate on behalf of their child with his or her school district, and provides an understanding of the legal framework to better prepare 2 parents for the process for creating the IEP and their rights under the Feugiat: IDEA and the school districts rights and responsibilities. P.A.T. helps parents become stronger advocates for their children living with hearing loss, as they work 3 with local school districts and service providers.
