CRIME INVESTIGATION

ABSTRACT
In this project we are developing a software based crime report with face detection technique. Here we will be developing a software system for crime record with face detection. We will be using images which are present in the folder. Crime investigation is a complex task involving vast amounts of information and requiring many different types of experts knowledge. Crime investigation would therefore benefit from the use of decision support system to help manage this information and to provide knowledge to help solve the more complex problem. Current researches efforts in this area have focused on the information management side of the problem based and tend to steer clear of formalizing expert knowledge. This is understandable since conventional knowledge based system lack the robustness needed to cope with the variety of circumstances that can be encountered during criminal investigation. However, similar problem have been encountered in the physical system domain and were tackled by means of novel model based reasoning techniques.

1.1.OBJECTIVES:
To develop a system to help in crime investigation. The project will be covering following points. 1. Criminal record: Here we are storing all databases related to the criminal and also storing images in a folder. 2. Face images matching: The face image is matched based on segmentation and component analysis technique. 3. Report: Here we will be generating report based on the criminal record.

1.2. EXISTING SYSTEM

The existing system is totally based on the manual process. All the works are maintain through Register. To search records we have to go through sequentially. Some record may be computerized but all records are not done.

1.3. PROPOSED SYSTEM

Crime investigation system is proposed to maintain the information. Through this system the information which is stored can be retrieve easily whenever required. The searching of the criminal is easily done The system covers maximum information related to the crime and criminal.
