GRAND HAVEN CROQUET CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING Minutes of August 5, 2013 Present: Cass Gaisor, Tony Dos

Santos, Bill Todd, Elaine Wolford, George Betz, Rich Burns, Annemarie Schutz Absent: Lindsey Brown Cass Gaisor opened the meeting by asking for approval of the Board Minutes of July 30, 2013. A Motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Minutes as written. Bill Todd provided the following Treasurer's Report Balance brought forward. $14,655.05 Expenses: Staples 26.16 Flowers for Roger Leroux 49.17 Food for Election Total Expenses Balance $ 450.00 525.33

All four of the Elected Officers were present. A motion was made, seconded and approved to appoint the following three Directors: Social Director - George Betz Tournament Director - Rich Burns Membership Director - Lindsey Brown (Elaine Wolford, acting as Assistant Membership Director, took notes for Lindsey who was away.) The following Committee Chairs and Special Positions were also approved by the Board. Nominating Committee Chair; Tony Dos Santos (The Bylaws require one member from the Board on this committee). Other members of the committee will be announced. Bylaws Committee Chair; Frank Benham. Members of the committee and subcommittee to be announced. Sunshine Lady; Janet Carlsen. Assisted by Dick Olson. Logo Wear Coordinator; Rachael Olson, Linda Dos Santos, Assistant Internet Communications and Webmaster; Barry Naus

Grounds & Equipment. An Ad Hoc Committee was appointed until such time as we have a permanent Chair and a committee in place. Committee members are; Tony Dos Santos, Chair, Cass Gaisor, and Rich Burns.

Referee Coordinator; Joe Zilligen Handicap Committee consists of; Cass Gaisor, Chair, Rich Burns and Tony Dos Santos. The Education and Instruction sub-committee, will aide in reviewing the handicaps. Members are: Joe Zilligen, Linda Dos Santos and Yvonne Croizer. A Team Coordinator will be chosen shortly.

The various Committee Chairs and coordinators , as well as the Board, are looking for people to fill Committees, sub-committees, and Special Positions. Most particularly needed are people to serve on the Social Committee, and also to host Wine & Wickets. Hosting can consist of as little as a one month commitment. Otherwise it will be wineless wickets. Preparations to form a committee for the April Invitational Tournament will get under way shortly.

All e-mails will be sent to club members as undisclosed recipients to protect privacy. There will be some adjustments to the Calendar to reflect minor changes for times of play. Our first Saturday Fun games run by George Betz will be scheduled for mid-September. Date and time to be announced. Our first Club Social will be scheduled for about the same time in the evening, date to be announced. An Italian theme was discussed. The Clinics will begin again in the week after Labor Day; The Wednesday Clinic will restart on the Wednesday after Labor Day with Rich and Carol Burns. The Friday Clinic will begin on the Friday after Labor Day with Cass Gaisor and Tony Dos Santos assisting. The Monday Clinic will start again on Monday September 9th with Tony Dos Santos and Linda Dos Santos assisting. Bob Carlsen is our new club photographer. He will be putting together a small team to train and assist in the photography. Barry Naus, Webmaster, is working with Bonnie Umphreys on creating a new 'user friendly" website. He will research websites and get back to us with details and costs.

The Board agreed to continue to pay website fees as they occur. Note: Photos and articles are needed for the website. There is still more to come as we fill in committees and special positions. Still needed are a Publicist and/or Public Relations person, Inter Club Relations and more. Our annual meeting will be April 16, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. There being no further business, a motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting - 2:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted: Annemarie Schutz Secretary
