Dear Mr. McCoy:

My name is Dave Jonas, and I am the General Counsel at the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) in Washington, D.C. We met briefly in Santa Fe after your presentation to the Board. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your presentation on possible improvements and increases in oversight at the Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). It is interested public citizens like you that allow the Board to best effectuate its mission.

It has come to my attention that you have requested from us two documents that were appended to a July 16, 2012, letter from NNSA to the Board. Specifically, (1) a consolidated report from SNL and the Sandia Site Office providing current and planned actions to address the Boards concerns regarding the implementation of quality assurance requirements at the Annular Core Research Reactor, and (2) NNSAs TA-V ACRR Facility Improvement Plan. Due to their Official Use Only designation and their status as DOE/NNSA documents, the Board is unauthorized to release these documents to you.
