GRADING: MEETING STANDARDS Learning takes time. Vikings should make time for learning by establishing a regular study time outside of school in which they read and complete homework. All work is important and aids in demonstrating mastery of standards and objectives. Vikings are expected to demonstrate mastery of standards and objectives. Letter grades A through C- denote an acceptable level of understanding, participation, and work quality. D grades are not given, as they do not represent an acceptable level of understanding. A failing grade indicates while a Viking may have attended class and submitted work, mastery was still not achieved. A grade of NG points towards insufficient evidence of learning. Assessments, projects, skills practice, and state tests will be used to determine final quarterly grades.

CONTINUOUS LEARNING Vikings who demonstrate proficiency on standards relating to a specific unit will be able to take unit assessments, and may be eligible for more time, support, and possible reassessment. Vikings who are absent are expected to make contact with their teachers, get any work missed, and make arrangements to complete the work/hand in and/or complete previously assigned work and assessments in a timely manner the first day they return to school from any absence. Doing so will help to minimize disruptions in each Vikings learning environment. Missing/Late work will be accepted at teachers discretion in accordance with the specific class procedures.
