9.

2 Running Test
Aim
To capture the motion of a runner, then use a graph to analyse and describe his motion.

Materials
Stopwatch. Tape measure.

Method
1. The tape was laid out to a distance of 50 metres. 2. The runner ran 50 metres 3 times at a moderate pace and his time was recorded at 10 meter intervals. 3. The tape measure was rolled up and the results were collected between group members.

Discussion
Despite the runner trying to perform differently each time the results showed he posted very similar times with the exception of a slightly faster first run. This was definitely interesting to see in the results as it was thought runs two and three would be much faster when the test was being conducted. Also his amount of acceleration or deceleration was very low. He maintained a fairly constant velocity though a higher timing resolution particularly towards the start couldve helped determine whether this was true much more accurately.
