Course

Description: In this course students will explore a number of mathematical concepts throughout the year; including but not limited to, working with algebraic expressions, functions, real numbers, area and volume of solids, and probability and statistics. Materials: - 1 one inch three ring binder - 3 dividers clearly labeled: Tests, Homework, Other - Lined paper (1 package) - 1 30 page graph paper notebook with one inch squares to be kept in your binder - 2 80 page notebooks (3 holes, no coils please) - Sharpened pencils with extra lead - Pencil sharpener - Eraser - Scientific Calculator - 1 12 inch clear bendable ruler - 1 Clear Geometry Kit - 1 9th grade Math workbook (will be provided by the teacher) *Please clearly label your notebook and binder and use them for this class only.
ALL MATERIALS ARE TO BE BROUGHT TO CLASS ON A DAILY BASIS. NOTHING ELSE COMES TO CLASS!

Grading Policy: Learning is a collaborative task and frequently builds upon itself, as such classroom attendance and participation is crucial. Classroom activities and assignments will be graded as follows. Test and Quizzes: 70% Homework: 20% Positive Classroom Participation: 5% Bringing ALL necessary materials: 5% * Grading is subject to change. Late Penalty for Take Home Assignments: 5% per day
