Opinions about Rizal retraction

Each person has different welfare and vulnerability and all of us are willing him to achieve his dream, But before we achieve our dreams, we need to transcend many problems to our life. such as our hero Dr. Jose Rizal He has encountered many problems when he was still alive. rizal experienced the anguish and pain in her life, in his suffering we, the Filipinos had an inspiration and he is proud to bear in mind today our hero. Who is Dr. Jose P. Rizal for Me? Dr.Jose P. Rizal is the national hero of the Philippines. This fact has been pondered to me since I started my primary level in school. During discussions, what is being imparted is everything that is good about Rizal. I dont even remember anyone teaching me something that is undesirable about Rizal. Maybe this is because of the objective of the teachers to make Rizal as an inspiration and a model to their students. During this time, I was thinking that Pepe, the pet name of Rizal, is a person who never considers anything but the sake of his countrymen. Nothing is constant in this world but change. My perception about Rizal has changed as I become matured. However, I dont mean that Rizal is not really a good person as what I am used to believe. There are just some things about Rizal that Ive heard that is not congruent with what Ive learned when I was in my primary and secondary level. Despite of this, I still believe that Jose P. Rizal is my national hero and he deserves to be one. Jose Rizal is a man with so many accomplishments. For me, he is really a Pinoy genius and it is proven with his numerous professions (physician-surgeon, writer, artist, scientist, linguist, etc.). Actually, Im amazed with his achievements. I cannot imagine that a single person can obtain all those professions which are actually from different fields. No matter how many attainments he had, he remained humble. Rizal was truly a person for his countrymen. Hes a patriot and nationalistic for he never wanted to see his fellow countrymen being oppressed and being exploited. Hes a man of action. However, I view him as still an ordinary man in the sense that he had also his flaws when he was still alive. He is still like us--human, whose curiosity is sometimes awakened which might result to a mistake. Now, I believe that Rizal was not always thinking of what he can do for his countrymen. Now. . As a student of Rizal technological university I want to know the facts and controversies about our national hero Dr. Jose rizal. Rizal was a genius whose life and death continues to inspire many Filipinos. His Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo were sensational bestsellers that exposed the excesses and abuses especially of the Spanish priests and he believed that liberty cannot be obtained at the point of a sword, but by making ourselves deserving of it. He did not espouse armed struggle as a means to achieve independence, arguing that people must first be free of the shackles of ignorance and superstition.

One of the most controversial issues of Dr Jose rizal was his so-called retraction. What is retraction? The retraction letter contains Rizals apologies and his withdrawal of the morbid ideas about the church and of the government of Spain in the Philippines which he has written in his novels He had been critical of the Catholic faith and the priests who use religion to perpetuate ignorance and poverty. Having been educated by Jesuits at the Ateneo, Rizal came to know of God and acknowledged His existence. I declare myself a catholic and in this Religion in which I was born and educated I wish to live and die. I retract with all my heart whatever in my words, writings, publications and conduct has been contrary to my character as son of the Catholic Church. I believe and I confess whatever she teaches and I submit to whatever she demands. I abominate Masonry, as the enemy which is of the Church, and as a Society prohibited by the Church. The Diocesan Prelate may, as the Superior Ecclesiastical Authority, make public this spontaneous manifestation of mine in order to repair the scandal which my acts may have caused and so that God and people may pardon me. Manila 29 of December of 1896 Jose Rizal many people believe that Rizal is retract but there are also people who do not believe that our hero does not retract. It is most unfortunate that some people speak and write about this Retraction without really knowing what Rizal did or did not retract. I was believed thaat it really was made by Rizal. Although they said that the only controversy here is the signature which they thought to be faked.Basing it on the evidences provided, I guess that it can be really true that Rizal did retract. But I believe that he didnt put his signature in it because of his cleverness. Rizal is a genius, we all know that, and I believe that he only played even with the priest. He wanted to marry Josephine Bracken tthat is why he made the paper, although he might have thought that it may be disadvantageous to him if he will already sign the letter without the priest fulfilling his request for marriage. I also quote fromn what Rizal have said, that even if he put his signature, in the letter, nobody will recognize it to be true because people will just think that it is an attack made by the friars against Rizal. And that is where Rizal brilliantly displays his mastery. The retraction letter is used by Rizal as a license of marriage. He might have thought that nothing will be lost because even if he wrote the letter, the written words will not be able to overshadow what he really felt inside. That is why I believe that Rizal really retracted but his renunciation in his letter will never defeat the true love in his country.

The shame in Rizals life is not the retraction of his deeds, writings or personal conduct. Such retraction was only a frailocratic figment of the impoverished priestly imagination. The real shame comes from the Filipino historians and other Catholic writers, not to mention the Knights of Rizal themselves who believed not in Rizals power of intellect, bu t believed instead his enemies the friars who invented sacred lies about this great man. Via the control of the system of education in the Philippines , these friars have and still are blocking, expediently and consistently, Rizals qualified and legit imate entry into the world stage as one of mankinds greatest thinkers. But then again how can the world learn of Rizals intellectual power if the Filipinos themselves know so little of the health and wealth of this great 19th century Filipino scientists, humanist, thinker, and writer? For me not matter what else is the source of Rizal and what is more controversial in His life.what is important is that you have made your peace with God and Surely whether Rizal died a Catholic or an apostate adds or detracts nothing from his greatness as a Filipino. It is because of what he did and what he was that we revere Rizal. Catholic or Mason, Rizal is still Rizal: the hero who courted death to prove to those who deny our patriotism that we know how to die for our duty and our beliefs . . .and One thing is Im sure, Jose Rizal loved Josephine. He wrote some poems about her and his love for her. I think these controversies about Josephine Bracken are unreasonable. Every hero deserves a lover that is without a question.
