O N S O Z
Bu kitap Beyrut'ta Dru'l-bihr yaynevi tarafndan ya ynlanan "A Dictionary of English and Arabic Proverbs" adl eser esas alnarak hazrlanmtr. Esere ngiliz ve Arap halklar arasnda yaygn olarak kullanlan ataszleri aln mtr. Verdiimiz Trke karlklar incelendiinde bunla rn bizde de ok yaygn bir biimde kullanldklar aka g rlecektir. Bu ataszleri, ngilizceleri esas alnarak alfabetik sra ierisinde verilmilerdir. Ancak ierisinde ataszlerinin yansra az da olsa deyimlerin de bulunmas sebebiyle bizler kitabmza "Ataszleri ve Deyimler Szl" adn vermeyi uygun bulduk. Ataszlerinin ve deyimlerin Trke ve Arapa karlkla r verilirken ngilizce asllar esas alnmtr. Tam karlk lar bulunabildii zaman aynen verilmi ancak bulunama d hallerde eviri yoluna gidilmitir. Trke 'de ayn ya da ok yakn anlaml ataszlerinin bulunmas halinde birden fazla karlk verilmesi uygun grlmtr. Arapa metin tekrar gzden geirilmi, gerekli grlen deiiklikler yaplmtr. Bu deiiklikler bazen ilaveler yap mak, birden fazla karlk vermek ve bazen de asln ksmen ya da tamamen deitirmek suretiyle yaplmtr. Bu almann, ngilizce, Arapa ve Trke renme a basnda olan kimselerin yansra ataszlerine ve deyimlere ilgi duyan aratrmaclara da yararl olaca midindeyiz. almalarmz srasnda Arapa metni okuyarak bize bir takm nerilerde bulunan Prof Dr. Raid Haddad'a ve diz giyi titizlikle yapan nc Limited alanlarna teekkr ederiz.
