Reuse Option

Mandatory of TNPCB

Aim: Improve the existing Sewage Treatment Plant Biological activity and match the legal requirements of TNPCB. Reuse the Treated effluent for garden irrigation purposes. Present Status: Excisting STP Plant is not matching the regularity requirement. Poor Biological & mineralisation. Sludge floating in clarifier water storage tank. It is case to filter chocking and upset the treated effluent quality. Analysis (Why why) Why-1 Filters are frequently chocking and non compliance of treated water quality. Why-2 Why sludge floating at primary treated tank Why-3 MLSS growth is not sufficient. Why-4 Proper biological activity is not happen Why-5 In flow of the strong effluent (High BOD and Oil & Grease (FOG)) due to canteen activity. Root case: 1)NoprovisionforFOGtrapandnotadequateattachedgrowthmedia(FBBR)inAerationtank& Equalisation tank. Also the aeration activity is upset. Counter Measures (Solution) 1. Install the oil grease trap before collection well. 2. Add adequate attached biogrowth media(FBBR) 20m3 at aeration tank and 10m3 at collection

tank.
Bench Mark: Achieve the treatment effluent as per TNPCB norms. i.e. BOD - <20mg/l, pH-6.8-8.5, FOG-<10mg/l

Benefit:
Process (P)
