AUTO CAD TRAINING 1 - Introduction BEFORE STARTING A NEW DRAWING: Save File before starting a Drawing. Delete extra layout tabs.( i.e. Layout. 2) Set units. Set Text Style. Set the Dimension style. Do Page Setup.

TO SET UNITS:

Command UNITS. Click Format menu => Units In the Drawing Units dialog box, under Length select Decimal or Engineering, select and precision of 0.00 (Use Decimal for Meters Scale and Engineering for Feet Scale.) The Sample Output area shows an example of the unit format at the current precision. Click OK.

TEXT STYLE: Click Format => Text Style => Multiline Text Select => New=> Give the name ( i.e. PTCS). Font Name => Times new Roman. Font Style => Regular. Annotative => Uncheck. Height => Based on Scale. Effects => Uncheck all. Widthfactor => 1.00 Oblique Angle => 0 Click Apply, click Set Current, and click Close.

DIMENSION STYLE:

Click Format menu => Dimension Style. Click New. Give the New Style name. (i.e. PTCS with Arrows) In the Create New Dimension Style dialog box, select the type of dimension that will apply to the substyle from the Use For list. Click Continue. In the New Dimension Style dialog box, select the appropriate tab and make changes to the dimension Click OK. Click Close to exit the Dimension Style Manager. Command: DIMSTYLE

PAGE SETUP:

Click the layout tab for which you want to modify the page setup settings. Click File menu Page Setup Manager In the Page Setup Manager, Page Setups area, select a named page setup that you want to apply to the layout selected in the drawing area. Click modify. And Follow the steps and Click OK. Printer name: Select the Printer name. (DWF6ePlot.pc3) Paper size: Use standard paper sizes. What to plot : select Layout Scale: Use custom then write 1mm. = 0.001unit (if u drawn to meters.) (If u drawn in millimeters then write 1mm. = 1unit.) Scale line weight Uncheck Set Gray Scale Plot style for Black and white printout Drawings and Screening 100% for color printout drawings. Display plot styles Check. Quality Normal. Plot with plot style Check. Plot paper space last Check. Hide paper space objects Uncheck. Drawing orientation Landscape

Command: PAGESETUP Shortcut menu: Right-click a layout tab. Click Page Setup Manager.

PAPER SIZES: PAPER SIZES Size Letter Legal Ledger Tabloid Arch D A3 A4 GRAY SCALE: It is the PLOT STYLE. It shows every object in Gray Color. The Gray Display is depending up on the color we are using in the Drawing. This is available in the Page setup. Screening 100%: It is the PLOT STYLE. It shows every object in 100% Color. This is available in the Page setup. We have to select this while doing PAGESETUP.
