Genetic Disorder Fundraising Presentation

Pretend you are working for a genetic disorder organization. This organization is hosting a fundraiser dinner party. You and your colleague have been chosen as the key note speakers for the event. Many of the attendees are extremely wealthy and looking to donate to your organization. This money could be used to help many families and help fund research of this disorder. As speakers, you are required to educate individuals about the disorder you represent and inspire guests to open their checkbook for your disease. The backdrop for your presentation will be a Prezi. The amazing women in the IMC will guide you through the research and the creation of presentation using two blocks for project work days. This is not silly subject material, these are serious diseases with serious symptoms. By giving this presentation you are representing a population of individuals with this disorder, their families, and the scientists involved in its research; it is very important to be appropriate and respectful! Besides inspiring dinner guests to donate to a wonderful cause, your presentation must include answers to the questions on the project research sheet. ** Be sure you utilize RELIABLE resources. NO WIKIPEDIA!! NO YAHOO ANSWERS!! NO KID SITES!! Your citation page is being graded. ** This entire presentation must be in YOUR OWN WORDS! Copying and Pasting will not be tolerated in this assignment. You must summarize your research, not steal anothers. ** You may choose your presentation colleague, but you are both equally responsible for completing the assignment and you will be graded together (even in absences). A part of your grade will rely on proper use of class time. ** Recommended Timeline: work with your business partner on Monday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 23rd for research & use Thursday, May 24th to complete the Prezi and formalize your speech.
