With the feel of a much larger yacht, she combines impressive performance with a very high quality standard. We are also delighted to feature in this issue, Lrssen Yachts magnificent 88m Quatroelle, arguably one of the finest, most beautiful yachts ever built. Next, we feature Kamaxitha, the superb 55m Spirt of Tradition ketch which shows unbelievable performance for a yacht of her size. Trinity Yachts, fresh to Floating ASSET, feature their superb Tsumat; Sunreef take us on a tour of Dubai onboard their great 70 motor catamaran Damrak II; Oyster, the top British builder show us their latest superyacht range; Hargrave, one of the worlds top custom yacht builders show us several of their superb range of new yachts, while Baglietto, the leading Italian luxury yacht brand give us a glimpse of their latest models. With a Curvelle quaranta
more stability
It is better to stand on two legs than one. Even at anchor .. It is a well-known fact that catamarans are far more stable than monohulls.
more space
The CURVELLE quaranta has four decks and a nine metre beam, which is one extra deck and two metres more beam than a comparable monohull.
more value
Due to clever design and logistics, we have been able to slash the cost by half, without any compromise on quality and safety. Now under construction in Istanbul, aggressive introductory pricing is available while the yacht is under construction. The delivery date is Spring 2013.
As a result, the internal and external space for guests is about 50% more than a traditional 34m and comparable with a 40m 42m performance monohull. 20 | Floating ASSET - September/October 2013

more speed
The CURVELLE quaranta cruises equally well at a performance speed of 25 knots or at a trans-Atlantic economy pace of 10 knots and any speed in between. The most efficient fuel consumption per nautical mile is about 20 knots and the fuel savings are around 30%.
more flexibility
The 6 double cabins with 6 bathrooms on the main deck can be easily configured into 3 suites, each with his and hers bathrooms. Whether you cruise with 3 VIP couples, a large group of grand children or your golfing buddies, the flexible layout can be customised in a few moments by the crew. nrico Gobbi of Team for Design has given Floating Asset an exclusive preview of its 87m superyacht design, M.Y. PANTHEON. Enrico Gobbi has created this concept for the prestigious Dutch superyacht company, Oceanco, as a response to feedback from the market for yachts of this size. Gobbi has designed a yacht with an imaginative interpretation of propulsion, layout and interior design to reflect a sleek design, nicely proportioned and stylish, but not a big palace, says the Italian designer. One of the briefs was to have a lot of glass clients want wide windows for views. Gobbi meshed the requirement for glass with the popular feature of a private owners deck. On the two uppermost decks is the
two-level master suite, he says. Its common to have this location but in this case, the owner has an incredible panoramic view from a private glasshouse / sky lounge located on the top deck. The sky lounge, which is essentially a glasshouse, includes the night area, bathrooms, which as well as offering exceptional views outside, could also be configured to overlook the private suites living areas located on the deck directly below through a big atrium with a scenic round staircase that connects the two Owner deck levels. The external deck of the upper level is exclusive to the owner, with a big Jacuzzi pool in the front sun area. The owner could arrive by helicopter using the touch-and-go pad on the upper deck aft and walk straight into the lower level of the suite without passing through any guest areas........
INSIGHT
INSIGHT
With the intention of maintaining the exceptional views throughout the ships design, a two-deck-high section of the superstructure amid ship leans outboard towards the sea creating panoramic view points from all decks whilst simultaneously flooding the interiors with natural light. As with many of Oceancos yachts the stern of the ship hosts an impressively spacious beach club. However, this concept houses a large pool split over two levels connected by a waterfall. The upper pool features a large bathing area and a bar with the water cascading into the lower deck pool which can be used as a Jacuzzi /whirlpool. Furthermore, the transom folds out to create an incredible extended beach deck for lounging and entertaining. However, security is never breeched, as when the transom is closed, as well as offering an elegant and aesthetic line to the yacht it also guarantees maximum security. Subject to owner preferences the yacht will have four double guest cabins and two very large VIP suites on the upper deck, and it will sleep 27 crew plus the captain. The project will be officially presented in Monte Carlo during the next Monaco Yacht Show 2013. Oceancos Y-coded generation of hulls could form the basis of Gobbis 87m and the design has been assessed technically as far as possible so that upon commission it will be ready-to-build.

The huge split cockpit is perfect for al fresco dining and the large, open deck areas feel like they belong to a much larger yacht. If you have one eye on recovering some of your investment, the 885s dimensions avoid the costs involved in offering a larger yacht for charter. NEW BUILD
Baglietto, the historic shipyard based in La Spezia, recently premiered its new stylish yacht range that will mark the Companys new era, which started in 2012 following the takeover of the shipyard by the Gavio Group.
September/October 2013 - Floating ASSET | 81
NEW BUILD
agliettos new range includes steel and aluminium displacement yachts from 43m to 60m and aluminium planing yachts ranging from 38m to 50m. As regards the former, construction is already ongoing on a 53m and a 46m yacht whose design stands out for an interesting combination of styles. Every single detail has indeed been painstakingly studied to achieve an unprecedented result: the streamlined stem reminds of Nordic boats and the slightly square lines of the main deck glazing and along the freeboard, alternate with softer ones, like those of the solid wood curved handrails of the deck gangways. A new 58m yacht was presented at the Monaco Boat show 2012 and the design of a new 43m yacht will be presented at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. In the aluminium planing yacht series, two vessels - 38m and 42m long - are now being designed and will be presented during this years Monaco Boat Show, while a 46m yacht is currently under construction, characterised by slender outer lines and a receding, aggressive bow juxtaposed to a sturdy stern with hawse-holes. The trapeze-shaped windows in the hull alternate with rectangular ones arranged on two different levels to enhance the slender shape of the hull, giving a more contemporary touch to the yachts highly appealing outer profile. Bagliettos range is completed by the fabulous, recently launched 44m M/Y Monokini, which will represent the shipyard during the the autumn Boat Show season.

NEW BUILD
Baglietto has earned a prestigious reputation in the Italian yacht and ship building industry since 1854. Its new era started just over a year ago, and has so far realised a complete relaunch of the brand, its products and its production site. The Gavio Group, a leading group operating in various sectors (motorways, engineering, the building sector, transport and logistics, energy and telecommunications), took over Baglietto in early 2012 and embarked upon a far-reaching project ranging from product strategy which maintains its world-class design and innovative approach - to military vessels and refitting activities. The new owners have also significantly invested in the extension and upgrading of the shipyards infrastructures. The takeover of the Baglietto brand and of the La Spezia facilities together with the Cerri brand marked Gavios debut in the boatbuilding and luxury yachts sector. Baglietto is an icon of Italian and international boating. It is part of the history of our country, and - in spite of the current difficult investment climate in the boating sector -, I was convinced that investing in it was the right choice. Baglietto means Made in Italy heritage, which needs to be preserved and promoted: we finally have the opportunity to launch new lines and even some very special projects that will be gradually unveiled over time and that we hope will conquer all yachting enthusiasts - said Bagliettos Chairman, Mr Beniamino Gavio. This is why we have intentionally preserved a strong connection with the past, entrusting once again Francesco Paszkowski (who has been the shipyards leading designer for over 20 years) with the design of the brands new lines and thereby ensuring continuity, but also innovation, concluded the Chairman.

NEW BUILD
After an over-twenty-year cooperation with Baglietto, being able to design new-generation yachts is a great privilege for me, as well as a challenging and, somehow, new task. Thanks to our firms extensive knowledge of the shipyard and the brand, we have been able to draw inspiration from Bagliettos historical stylistic features and to reinterpret them in a contemporary style that preserves the brands traditions and core values stated Francesco Paszkowski. The reconstruction of the entire production site in La Spezia, currently Bagliettos only site, is a pillar of the relaunch project promoted by the new Owners, who have invested approximately 20 million to turn the La Spezia pole into one of the leading excellence centres of the entire Mediterranean basin over the next few years. Together with the construction of new yachts, which remains the Seagull brands core business, Baglietto intends to develop and strengthen refitting and repair activities too: The new shipyard will be perfectly equipped to offer excellent services and ensure the same level of quality and care that characterise all its products stated Bagliettos CEO Mr Diego Michele Deprati. Love, Life, Liberty and Luxury
96 | Floating ASSET - September/October 2013
elivered in January 2013, the 86.11m Quattroelle is designed for extensive and extended cruising and with her long range she requires only a few stops in ports.
Quattroelle is Italian for "4 times the letter L" - the 4 L's representing Love, Life, Liberty and Luxury - these four key words expressing what this jewel of a yacht means to the owner.

Quattroelle
The owner, who up-graded from a 60m Lrssen yacht, has many years of owning and chartering different types of yachts behind him. He required top notch design and engineering as well as seagoing comfort for his family, guests and crew. The owners captain, Paul Bell, and the team around yacht broker Robert Moran of Moran Yacht and Ship supervised the project and brought in their huge spectrum of experience and consolidated knowledge. Quattroelle is the first Lrssen yacht designed by Nuvolari & Lenard, who were responsible for the exterior as well for the interior design. She is a successful combination of elegance and sport and she looks well on her way to becoming a classic. With its massive volumes, the size of the yacht was a challenge but with careful volume distribution and a study of proportion, Nuvolari & Lenard nonetheless achieved a sleek appearance on the yacht. The funnel design is resonant of the air scoop of a formula one car and with its inverted shape creates the distinctive silhouette of Quattroelle. Her six decks offer her 12 guests enormous space for both entertainment and relaxation. The interior can best be described as contemporary eclectic. The comfortable feeling comes from a balanced connection between tradition and the best use of the decorative materials that Europe has to offer. The whole interior is customized, from pieces of furniture, to hardware, to lighting, combining a sophisticated palette of woods, stones and fabrics. When entering Quattroelle through the main entrance into the wood and marble floored foyer there is an immediate mood of a classic yacht. The foyer provides a very impressive staircase as well as an elevator accessing all decks from lower deck to bridge deck, and a day head. The gorgeous bronze handmade balustrade is an impressive feature perfectly matching the dynamic and fluid spirit of the interior throughout the boat. Aft of the foyer, guests directly enter the formal dining salon, with seated dining for 16 but can also be enlarged for up to 20 guests. To enjoy the panoramic view while having a dinner, the outer bulwarks in the dining room are designed as outboard folding flaps allowing complete separation from the main salon and library which are further aft. The chandelier and the table are both exquisite works of art. The dining table combines a wavy metal panel, engraved with a thick glass top, its depth capturing the light of the beautiful chandelier above.
YACHT REVIEWS
The designs in the carpet are repeated in the fabrics of the wall and the chairs. The side wall, which separates the dining room from the library, is encased in leather incorporating beautifully engraved floral pictures. The library and formal main salon offer enormous space for guests, with comfortable couches and chairs in warm browns, beiges and blues. Pieces of furniture have been included with a sharp eye for detail and finish, from the blue artglass, to the curved and bold shapes of the joinery. Forward of the foyer, two doors lead into the cinemas lobby and then further forward to the guest lobby. The cinema is the ideal place for relaxing while watching a movie and offers space for all the guests.
The main deck hosts five guest suites, of which three are large VIP suites. The VIP suites offer double beds and the other two guest suites offer twin beds which can also be converted into queen-size beds. The dcor of each cabin is different but all continue with the warm brown, beige and blue colour theme. The big advantage of having the guest cabins on the main deck instead of on the lower deck, as is the case on many other yachts, is that it gives not only a better separation between guests and crew, but it also allows for larger and finer accommodation with very large windows allowing for masses of natural light.

Half of the upper deck is dedicated to the owners area, which includes a private study, two childrens cabins, the owners suite with his and her bathrooms and personal dressing rooms. The owners suite offers spectacular panoramic views and includes a side door giving access to a cosy private seating area. The warm dcor underlines the very convenient and contemporary overall look and makes one feel very comfortable indeed. The huge his and hers sumptuous bathrooms includes a large shower and a Jacuzzi. While the luxurious walk-in wardrobe is the size of an extra cabin. The outside forward deck is designed to be the owners private area, separated by privacy doors on the exterior walkways on both sides, but can also be used as a helicopter deck. Repeating the layout of the main deck, a small lobby with day head leads aft from the foyer into the upper deck lounge. The lounge offers ample seating and relaxation areas with a large TV screen, bar, and a self-playing Steinway piano. The upper salon allows the natural light coming from the exterior to meet the earth colours of the interior materials, giving the whole room a cosy feeling.

The outside aft deck offers extra-large spaces and different areas with a favourite exterior dining place, offering two round tables which can be converted into one large table for up to 18 guests. The complete aft deck can be enclosed with glass panels much like a winter garden and additional overhead heaters ensure comfortable dining in colder climates or in more chilly weather conditions. The aft deck is very inviting with its large seating area for relaxation and impeccably laid out triangular awnings fixed on carbon-fibre poles ensure perfect sun protection. In addition to the state-of-the-art wheelhouse, the bridge deck houses a radio room, ships office and captains accommodation, as well as a generous owners private lounge decorated in light tones. The outside aft deck hosts a large pool with jet flow, surrounded by comfortable sun beds and seating areas. Stairways on both sides lead to the top deck, which offers a protected area for a gym, including beauty and massage rooms as well as a sauna. Forward on the top deck is a Jacuzzi with a spectacular panoramic view and in conjunction with the sun beds which surround it, is a perfect area for relaxation. Treated water for both the pool on the bridge and the Jacuzzi on the top deck is stored in separate holding tanks with individual temperatures so that the pool and the Jacuzzi are ready for use at short notice. Aft of the lower deck is the upper engine room as well as the enormous tender garage which hosts two Colombo/LT tenders: one Limo tender and one open tender, both designed by Nuvolari & Lenard, both of which can be launched sideways through the hull doors. In addition there is plenty of space for any other kind of water sports equipment, including a dedicated dive equipment room. A watertight door leads into the beach club area which includes a day head, a changing room and a sofa area equipped with a TV. Leaving towards the aft through the stern door a bathing area is accessed with an enormously sized fold-out bathing stair which can also be used as a collection point for guests. The tank deck hosts plenty of space for the crew including a crew mess, crew lounge and crew office. Suitably sized and perfectly laid out laundry and fridge and freezer rooms can be found on the tank deck as well.

The engine room is the heart of the yacht and a masterpiece of Lrssen engineering with polished stainless steel applications. Powered by 2 CAT engines of 2,000kW each, Quattroelle reaches a top speed of 17 knots and has a range of 6,000nm. Elastically mounted equipment guarantees extremely quiet running of the yacht and zero speed fin-stabilizers reduce wave generated motions when at anchor. For low emissions the auxiliary engine exhaust system is equipped with HUG particle filters and soot burners which are fully compliant with the current IMO air pollution requirements. The system provides excellent fuel efficiency as heat is not generated electrically but directly by burning spare fuel thus demanding less generator capacity. Quattroelle is a family yacht built for pleasure, but above all other considerations, she is a yacht intended to be selfsufficient during extended voyages on the high seas and well equipped for whatever she may face.

Built by Royal Huisman in The Netherlands, the 55m /181ft Spirit of Tradition ketch Kamaxitha spreads her wings and confirms her potential as an offshore flyer. Designed by Dykstra Naval Architects and with a stunning interior by Rhoades Young, Kamaxitha demonstrated long ocean legs while crossing the Atlantic, then showed off her elegant and purposeful lines as she threaded her way amongst the Windward and Leeward Islands of the West Indies. Returning to Europe she has been cruising the eastern and central regions of the Mediterranean during the summer of 2013.

YACHT REVIEWS
A fascinating combination of authentic traditional ketch and advanced offshore rocket ship, there is more to Kamaxitha than first meets the eye. Thanks to the Spirit of Tradition revival, enthusiasts of fine traditional sailing yachts can now enjoy the spectacle of a host of elegant new classics in ports, on passage, and at regattas around the world. Kamaxithas owner is one such enthusiast and one who could see no reason why fine traditional lines should be in conflict with sparkling performance and exceptional handling. He commissioned Dykstra Naval Architects to design, and Royal Huisman to build, a yacht that carried with it a spirit of tradition, combining classic hull lines with a highly advanced underbody, keel and rudder configuration to complement a powerfully efficient ketch rig. For good measure, he invited Rhoades Young Design to create an interior that stakes a strong visual claim to yachts of an earlier era yet incorporates all the luxurious amenities and operational necessities of the modern era. The result is a yacht that inspires, both as a fine recreation in the classic tradition and as a true sailors yacht of the present day.
YACHT REVIEWS
With her elegant sheer line, dramatic plumb bow and fine counter stern, the 55m (181ft) ketch Kamaxitha looks every inch a worthy successor to the working sailers of a former era to which she pays homage boats such as the Bristol pilot cutter and the Brixham trawler. With no portholes to interrupt her topsides Kamaxitha looks both traditional and purposeful. Her fine hull lines, accentuated by a gold-leafed cove stripe and visually uninterrupted teak cap rail, are complemented by a traditional open bulwark, clean open deck spaces and neatly proportioned teak-clad deckhouses. Sympathetic period features include two beautifully-joinered skylights inset with bevelled glass. In keeping with tradition, deck planks are laid fore-and-aft parallel to the yachts centreline, running without interruption, it seems, through hatches that show no visible margin planks. The twin helms are thoughtfully positioned to give exceptional lines of sight over the deckhouses and to create a reassuring sense of scale that belies the size of this yacht. These helms may introduce a more modern note, but care has been taken to maintain a sense of authenticity in their presentation: the helm station displays and controls can be lowered out of sight when not required, the helm seats and surrounds are finely joinered teak gratings with varnished margin planks, and the carbon ventilation louvers are cleverly disguised with a thin layer of varnished teak. The carbon composite masts and rollaway booms and the Duplex high tensile stainless steel bowsprit are all spray-painted cream, a further evocation of a former era, while the aesthetic simplicity of a clear working deck and uninterrupted topsides is emphasised by the absence of any visible anchoring equipment. This is achieved by way of a submarine anchor and launching system, sealed by a profiled hatch below the waterline.
YACHT REVIEWS
With her plumb bow, long waterline, low wetted-surface areas and high sail area to displacement ratio, Kamaxitha is designed to deliver fast acceleration and high speeds. To optimise that potential, she sports a fine canoe under-body with flatter aftersections, a fully ballasted 62-ton lifting keel (which can be raised or lowered in just over two minutes), and a deep spade rudder fabricated from carbon composite. Almost all the keel weight is concentrated into the bulb, ensuring a low centre of gravity to balance out the powerful driving forces of her rig. Draft extends from 4.5m (15ft) to 6.75m (22ft) for optimum performance as well as the ability to access the widest choice of ports and anchorages. Dykstra Naval Architects also devised a powerful ketch rig capable of carrying up to 2,449m2 of downwind sail. The rig features Rondal carbon composite masts and rollaway booms, North 3DL sails, and composite forestays for lightness and stiffness. The whole rig is easily and efficiently handled by a sail-handling system that employs Lewmar high speed drum winches, Reckmann furlers, Rondal captive winches and feeders, and Rondal custombuilt deck hardware including blocks specially upgraded to meet high loads within a compact format.
YACHT REVIEWS
Social life aboard Kamaxitha revolves around the main deckhouse, together with the main cockpit and helm stations neatly grouped behind the companionway and protected by a sun awning. The main cockpit is designed to provide secure, sheltered seating with excellent views and easy access to service from below, as well as social interaction with the helm. Behind the mizzen, the aft deckhouse is an extension to the owners suite that offers private deck-level amenity and shelter while also giving access to the delightfully secluded owners cockpit affording excellent all round views. Forward of the main deckhouse two tenders are accommodated when at sea. In port and in secluded anchorages with the tenders afloat, this space can be transformed into a charming and imaginative alfresco dining area with a specially designed dining table installed beneath a tent of orientally-influenced design that neatly connects to the main boom. On stepping into the main deckhouse, one immediately encounters the calm, peaceful ambience of tradition that Rhoades Young has so successfully created throughout the interior of this fine yacht. One of the principal themes is matt-finished Sweetania mahogany joinery, known for its calm grain and consistent hue, which sets an elegant tone beneath hand-painted white deckheads set above contoured and chamfered beams and lit by period style light-fittings. Fielded panelling is complemented by railings of hand-turned spindles, and bookshelves surmounted by shell-design pediments. To further enhance the period finish, locker doors are hand painted rather than sprayed, intentionally leaving the subtlest traces of hand brushwork. The floors are immaculately laid in walnut. This traditional evocation belies the fact that Kamaxitha, in the Spirit of Tradition, is furnished to levels of luxury and equipped to standards of technology that could never have been dreamed of in earlier times. The great skill is in designing and building an interior that delivers all the benefits of modernity whilst maintaining a credible aura of period authenticity.

Double pocket doors from the cockpit retract neatly out of sight on a roller system to provide access to the main deckhouse. Here the upper salon fulfils its role as a social hub with casual seating and dining for eight to port (extendable to ten) and a navigation station to starboard, all with commanding exterior views. Going forwards, elegantly splayed stairs give access to the main salon where a Gentlemans bar to port, complete with beer tap, overlooks a relaxed and intimate casual seating area around a fireplace. To starboard, there is an attractive formal dining area for eight (extendable to ten) and a short corridor that provides access to both the forward twin guest cabin and to the crew quarters for service. Stairs aft of the main deckhouse offer access to a day head and another twin guest cabin to port, to a double guest cabin to starboard, and to the owners suite aft. The owners suite comprises a large double bed in a classic bed box, walk-in wardrobe, an office with casual seating, double bathroom with bath, shower, separate wc and bidet, and a separate steam cabin. Steps aft lead to the owners upper lounge in the aft deckhouse: a light and spacious area with excellent privacy, offering direct access to the snug owners cockpit. All cabins benefit from the natural light thrown by deck skylights and from the rich visual interest created by the use of colourful, fabric-lined panels in outboard recesses. Considerable thought has been given to achieving maximum flexibility of guest accommodation. A high level Pullman berth is installed above the inside bed of the aft twin guest cabin; an additional mobile Pullman can be set up for extra berthing on the outside of either of the aft guest cabins; and there is a sofa bed in the lower salon. Guests using the sofa bed can use the day head, which has shared access to the shower serving the portside aft guest cabin. The forward guest cabin has been specially configured to be also accessible for a wheelchair user. Kamaxitha is very responsive at the helm, especially for a boat of her size, manoeuvring with agility and speed on her high aspect fin and bulb keel. Off-wind, Kamaxitha has already demonstrated the ease with which she can reach and sustain her theoretical hull speed of 17.8 knots. With potential speeds in excess of 25 knots, this is a rocket ship in elegant clothing - and one that is very pleasing to the eye!

Tsumat
The name Tsumat comes from an ancient Mexican dialect and means beautiful girl or princess. Subtle in meaning and strong in phonetics, her very name challenged all involved in her build and design to unite the power of the ocean with the grace of a superyacht. Contemporary and comfortable, Tsumat sets a high standard by making use of every inch of space, resulting in an overall sense of spaciousness, warmth and refinement that is felt throughout the vessel. Her layout includes six staterooms and a tender garage, allowing for an oversized sundeck complete with workout stations and ample relaxation options. Tsumat is intended to provide every amenity for her active owners, family and their guests. With a draft of less than 8 (2.4m) at half load - one of Trinity Yachts marvels of superyacht engineering given a 164 (49.9m) length - Tsumat manoeuvers easily in shallowwater destinations while maintaining her transatlantic capabilities. Simultaneously, Tsumats 28 (8.5m) beam creates exceptionally large living space and plentiful and comfortable room for crew: Tsumat accommodates 12 owners and guests and 11 crew. Tsumat is the result of our passion for architecture, translated into the world of yacht design, says Ramon Alonso of Loguer Design. The design teams Latin and European influences and the use of select materials and elements historically found in Mexican architecture, such as walnut lattices, solid blocks of stone and hand-stitched leather details with a high level of craftsmanship were the key ingredients in the creation of Tsumats interiors. Coupled with the design concept centered on comfort, attention to detail and simplicity, Tsumat blends natural and high-end materials with the latest technology thus creating functional spaces of great elegance, he adds.

Simplicity and contrast is achieved by the consistent use of neutral tones found in open-grain walnut and dark oak veneer accents, brown and beige leathers, wool carpets, and light textured suede. Natural granite and onyx slabs as well as different marble blocks were hand selected and imported from Mexican quarries to emphasize the purity of the design. Stainless steel fixtures and hardware were selected from the finest European manufacturers. The cabinetry throughout the yacht was designed using the same wood species and stones. A six stateroom all en-suite layout includes a full-width main deck owners king master suite - with wrap around forward facing windows providing 180-degree panoramic views - with an adjacent owners study and walk up en-suite His and Her heads, featuring custom-made orange onyx sinks with stainless steel fixtures over Thassos marble countertops with walls covered with horizontal textured stone tiles. The shared shower is made with full slabs of white Thassos marble on floors, walls and ceiling, all enclosed in frosted glass. The master suite is spacious enough for seating, ample storage and a 42 pop-up plasma TV. Four guest staterooms - two king and two twins for children and their friends - are on the lower deck amidships. A fifth queen guest stateroom features breathtaking views from the pilothouse deck. Berths are framed in open-grain walnut and leather with waterfall edges, and flanked with hand-stitched leather wrapped nightstands. Large windows assure guests remarkable views.

The main deck is highlighted by wonderfully open space in the main and dining saloons including elegant seating for 12, a complete bar and wine cellar, a spacious galley with island bar seating for enjoying the preparation of sophisticated cuisine and a full beam al fresco lounge. Oversized and comfortable sectionals and a custom made dining table with backlit onyx inserts provide a perfect setting. The interior design teams Mexican architecture influence is reflected in the walnut wood lattice ceiling above and a terracotta fabric background is artfully emphasized through the use of indirect led lighting making the space more intimate. Transitional areas like foyers and stairs are distinguished with chocolate tile leather floors and delicate leather covered railings. Wall and ceiling panels are upholstered in suede of contrasting colours and textures. The warmth of the main deck flows into the sky lounge, providing a refined space for relaxation and amusement. The focal point of this spectacular space is the bar, which features a one-of-a-kind ocean inspired countertop and two amazing pieces of art from the owners private collection.

76
Seaworthy, elegant, efficient, comfortable and easy to handle, this stylish yacht has superb proportions and a unique elegance designed by the talented, worldfamous naval architect, Philippe Briand. Boasting a fast, powerful and reassuring hull - ultra-modern with its hard chine and sharp bow - the yachts weight has been carefully distributed to ensure excellent passage through choppy seas. This is backed up by a well-balanced, sleek sail plan - with her mast brought aft, the CNB 76s sail plan allows a perfect distribution of the sail area between main sail and foresails. CNB also offers customised solutions to suit different types of sailing. On board, there is a large and fully-equipped manoeuvring area, clearly separated from the living spaces and centred on the twin helming positions. The CNB 76s cockpit is altogether efficient, safe and comfortable. A retractable Bimini, hidden in the roof, shelters the cockpit. Forward, a large, uncluttered foredeck has a particularly clean deck layout allowing clear passage along the wide side-decks and easy access to the cockpit, made even easier by the absence of breaks or significant differences of level. At the stern, there is a tender storage area big enough to house a 3.85m tender which can be easily handled by an electric hoist. A large hydraulic swimming platform extends to the sea and then serves as a tender launching ramp. This tender garage is flanked on each side by large storage lockers. The lines of the CNB76 perfectly integrate a raised saloon, ideal when sailing as well as when moored.

Inside, her layout is as harmonious as it is comfortable and truly functional. The interior of the CNB76 has been designed by JeanMarc Piaton, who decided from the outset that, although the CNB 76 is capable of short-handed sailing, it should be capable of accommodating a professional crew whose presence and activity would not disturb the owners and guests privacy. A very large, bright, particularly modular saloon offers more than 2m headroom, as indeed does everywhere else in the yacht. Being the yachts main entertaining area, the saloon is off-centred to allow easy movement below deck. The owners cabin is peaceful and bathed in light thanks to the three portholes and three opening deck hatches. It is located forward to be isolated from the noise of life on board. With stylish accommodation for up to 8/9 guests plus 2 crew, the interiors are all spacious, clean and light. The CNB 76 galley is also truly spacious for a yacht of this size and superbly equipped. A large hatch gives direct access from the galley to the cockpit, perfect when passing refreshments on deck when underway. With several orders already in progress, it is clear that the CNB 76 is destined to be another highly successful model for this renowned French shipyard and a luxury yacht to explore the seven seas with total peace of mind.

What is it that someone who has spent a couple of hundred thousand dollars on a luxury yacht charter will remember most when he reminisces about his holidays? The magnificent sunsets? The fabulous water toys jet skis, maybe even a submersible? The fantastic cuisine served on the finest china, accompanied by only the best wines from glistening crystal decanters? Not if the yacht hasnt been fitted with stabilizers. The only thing he will remember then is to be more discerning when choosing a yacht to charter, for today there really is no reason to feel seasick either when underway, at anchor or moored in a marina. Shake, rattle and roll is no longer considered standard on larger charter yachts thanks to Quantum Marine, who, as a relatively small company back in 1999, forever changed the yachting world with the invention and implementation of ZeroSpeed stabilizers. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength in leading the way to provide a stable environment in which to truly enjoy the experience of luxury yachting a significant step when you consider that a large amount of time on board these yachts is actually spent either in port or at anchor, a time when you do not want to have to catch your glass of wine!
EQUIPMENT
ZERO SPEED
Back in 2000, the fitting of ZeroSpeed stabilizers was seen as something of an expensive and not necessarily wise or successful cost by many luxury yacht owners. However, the year before, Quantum had worked with a savvy yacht owner who had realised that he could maximise the rental potential of his yacht by adding that something extra stability to the list of quality items on board. With a lot of commitment, tweaking and eventual success, the first ZeroSpeed stabilizers were an unequivocal triumph and, true to the most successful forms of advertising, word of mouth soon spread the idea that this was the way forward. ZeroSpeed stabilizers then became an essential investment, an asset for luxury yacht owners. Existing yachts are now being fitted retrospectively with stabilizers, and it would be unheard of these days for any self-respecting luxury yacht builder not to fit these stabilizers as standard something to now be taken for granted. In fact, Quantum Marine is proud of having the largest number of ZeroSpeed stabilizers installed on new vessels in the mega yacht market. Quantum Marine, though, has not been resting on its laurels since. With a personal commitment to quality, customer service and excellence in manufacturing brought about largely by many of the workforce having personal experience of being onboard large sailing vessels and so knowing what the potential problems are that need solving, the company has continued to innovate with new technology. Not only has the range of yachts that can benefit from ZeroSpeed stabilizers been broadened, now ranging from 28 to 164 meters, but new systems have been developed to enhance stability still further.

XT Fin
Progress rarely comes without change and modern yacht designs often have a much higher volume hull design and frequently have designed speeds in excess of 20 knots which do not always allow for the successful fitting of existing stabilizer fins, and may in fact add to drag when the yacht is underway. Quantum has risen to this challenge and recently developed a new patented extendable fin the XT fin designed to reduce the fin footprint with extendable foils to stabilize the yacht at anchor, but which can be retracted when underway, thus reducing drag. The positioning of the XT fins aft of the shaft causes a much more efficient geometry than before and so is in the best position to deliver the force required for roll damping at anchor. An additional benefit of the XT fins is that in some cases, depending on the total area requirements, two fins can be fitted instead of four. There seems to always be more that can be done though.
EQUIPMENT
MagLift
Quantums latest innovation is the MagLift series of rotary stabilizers perfectly suited to high-speed yachts, large sports fishers and several other applications including the military technology designed to use the Magnus Effect, a curious event first observed in the 17th century by Sir Isaac Newton and formalized by Heinrich Magnus. The Magnus Effect has been described as the phenomenon whereby a spinning object creates a whirlpool effect around itself, the object experiencing a force perpendicular to the line of motion. The overall behaviour is similar to that around an aerofoil with a circulation which is generated by the mechanical rotation, rather than by aerofoil action. Indeed, the match ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup has been criticised for the different Magnus effect to previous match balls. The ball used was described as having less Magnus effect and as a result flew further but with less controllable swerve. Using this principle, Quantum has invented and patented a completely new cylinder stabilizer that delivers full functionality both underway and at anchor. The MagLift systems offer the option of retracting the rotors into the hull for high speed, no drag travel. When deployed, they deliver a level of low-drag performance at slow speeds (3 16 knots), a result not achievable when conventional fins are used. However, stabilizer fins use hydraulic power as they require a lot of power to be delivered quickly. With this in mind, Quantum began building its own high-capacity power packs several years ago and the Integrated Hydraulic Systems, with the smallest footprint available, greatest flexibility of operation and highest level of redundancy, have earned a reputation for superior quality and reliability.

EQUIPMENT
Since starting out in 1985, Quantum Marine has refused to drag its feet in developing and applying new technology to improve the stability of yachts and thus the comfort factor. Many owners, guests and charterers can now fully enjoy their time on board their luxury yachts, confident in the knowledge that, thanks to Quantum Marines innovations since its inception over 35 years ago, they wont be feeling the negative effects of the motion that used to accompany those on the water. With bespoke electronic controllers and hydraulic power packs perfectly matched to the demands of its own fins or MagLiftTM cylinders, Quantum confidently proclaims: No One Does It Better. The Van offers a fantastic platform to enjoy a day cruising along the French Riviera with family or friends, or for a romantic long weekend away to Italy.
CHARTER PROFILE
The Van
The Van seems remarkably big for her length and presents a refreshing perspective on flybridge motoryachts at this size. This 2012 Sunseeker is a perfect example of the innovative Manhattan 53 range. Although the smallest in the latest Sunseeker flybridge range, the Manhattan 53 still presents spacious entertaining and socialising areas to suit all moods. Step through the wide, slide-opening doorway into the naturally-lit saloon with its high ceiling and you will appreciate why it is said that the new 53 gives the sense of being on a yacht larger than its labelled size and this feeling extends throughout the entire interior. All cabins are appointed to the high standard expected from Sunseeker, sumptuously designed and fitted. A Williams jet tender and snorkelling gear add to your enjoyment when exploring the stunning southern French coastline on board this new generation of Sunseeker yachts. Based in Monaco, she is available for day charters, romantic weekends and extended cruising along the French Riviera.
