Game 1 Directions: Take 1, 2, 3 objects. Rules: 1. Begin with one pile of 13 (or more) objects. 2. Two people play. Decide who goes first. 3. At each turn, a player takes 1, 2, 3, objects from the pile. 4. Whoever takes the last object wins. Game 2 Directions: Take 1 or 2 objects Play with any number of objects in the pile. Rules: 1. Two people play 2. One player decides on the number of objects. 3. The other player decides whether to : Go first and take 1 object Go first and take 2 objects Let the other player go first 4. Whoever takes the last object, loses Game 3 The 100 game Directions: Whoever calls our 100 wins. Rules: Two people play this game. Decide who will go first. The first player calls out a whole number between 1 and 10. (Not inclusive) The second player calls out a larger whole number, but not more than 10 larger than the previous number. Players take turns calling out larger numbers, never adding more than 10 to the previous number. Game 4 Game of Eleven (Project from RMP Summer 99) Play the game for 5 minutes Contemplate then summarize your strategy. Objective: To force your opponent to take the last chip. Set up the chips as indicate in the pattern below.

Version 1 Players alternate removing 1 or 2 or 3 chips. All chips taken must be from the same row. The last player who is forced to take the last chip loses. Version 2 Players alternate removing chips. A player may take as many chips as he/she wished but all chips taken must be from the same row. The last player who is forced to take the last chip loses.
