VI. ENRICHMENT Why should we take good care of our circulatory system ? Objective : Describe the circulatory system and its major parts.

ACTIVITY WORKSHEET
I. Reading of Text Circulatory System : Function and its parts Circulatory system is the system of our body that takes care of carrying food nutrients and oxygen to the cells. Circulatory system is the transport system of our body . It carries food nutrient , oxygen and other substances to billion of cells in our body. It also collects the wastes from the cells and carries them away . These wastes are given off by the cells when they use food and oxygen. This system is also responsible in fighting infections and depend our body against foreign organisms. It also helps maintain body temperatures and helps in blood clotting.

To sum up the functions of the circulatory system are : o Transport gases, like oxygen from the lungs to cells around the body and carbon dioxide from the cells to the lungs. o Transport nutrients like glucose. o Transport wastes from cells to organs that play the role of eliminating them. o It contains cells that fight infections and defend against foreign bodies. o Helps maintain the body temperature, this is especially important in warm blooded animals like humans. o It helps in blood clotting
