For Compost:

We compared the number of animals on the Jamshedpur zoo with that of the Mysore zoo. The Mysore zoo sold a quantity of 2.33 lakh KG of Compost which brought in receipts worth Rs. 9.35 lakh. The size of the Jamshedpur zoo in terms of mammal count being only 10% of the numbers in the Mysore zoo and with Animal dung being the major constituent, we can predict a revenue addition of around Rs. 1 lakh over a period of 12 months

For Pisciculture:

There have been cases of farmers in the country leveraging fisciculture as an alternative source of income. With the vast lake area being underutilized, a small section of the lake could be cordoned off, cleaned and used for the purpose. Several farmers who were traditionally raising paddy and sugarcane in Mandya districts have started taking interest towards rearing fish. Channappa, a farmer in Malavalli, converted his two acre agriculture land into fish pond and produced fish seed worth over `8 lakh in less than four months. The net profit earned by the farmer by selling fish seed was around `5 to 6 lakh which is more compared to traditional crops of paddy and the sugarcane he said
