stressful. With pressures coming from all angles, it is no wonder that we need to learn to relax, and unwind in order to recharge. This is the value of play ... To what extent can aid solve poverty ? The world we live in today is one that still suffers from economic inequity even after decades of communal and international efforts to end poverty. The results of aid are palpable, but still fall short of successfully eradicating this scourge ...

How important is play ? Have you ever wondered what would

happen if we had absolutely no play time in our life ? Life would be miserable ! ... To what extent can aid solve poverty ? Have you ever wondered why poverty persists despite the billions of dollars worth of aid pumped in to alleviate it ? Critics of aid, especially foreign aid, would say that it is precisely because such vast amounts have been channelled to the poor that the problem becomes more entrenched ...

How important is play ? Play is perhaps one of those things we take for

granted - until we have hardly any time for it. When work and other responsibilities become overwhelming, play can be a form of relaxation that brings out a persons child-like, carefree qualities ... To what extent can aid solve poverty ? Aid has perhaps become one of those things that many people, or countries, take for granted. There seems to be some assumption that there will always be someone to step in to help the needy. This belief, which is reinforced by numerous acts of charity, can actually contribute to the persistence of poverty ...

How important is play ? Every day, thousands of people make work

the focus of their waking hours, so much so that some may fail to neglect their own need for balance in their life. Others know that their need for balance can come in the form of play ... To what extent can aid solve poverty ? Every year, thousands of people die in the poorest countries on the world die from malnutrition or disease. This is inspite of the billions spent on aid to help them ...

How important is play ? Play is one of the important, yet under-

rated, activities that we do in our lives. Play has so many purposes beyond relaxation ... To what extent can aid solve poverty ? Poverty is one of humanitys most intractable problems. It is not for want of trying. Billions of dollars worth of aid have been poured in to relieve poverty-stricken countries but the results have not been consistently successful ...
