The world we live in today is one that still suffers from economic inequity even after decades of communal and international efforts to end poverty. The results of aid are palpable, but still fall short of successfully eradicating this scourge ...

How important is play ? Have you ever wondered what would

happen if we had absolutely no play time in our life ? Life would be miserable ! ... To what extent can aid solve poverty ? Have you ever wondered why poverty persists despite the billions of dollars worth of aid pumped in to alleviate it ? Critics of aid, especially foreign aid, would say that it is precisely because such vast amounts have been channelled to the poor that the problem becomes more entrenched ...

granted - until we have hardly any time for it. When work and other responsibilities become overwhelming, play can be a form of relaxation that brings out a persons child-like, carefree qualities ... There seems to be some assumption that there will always be someone to step in to help the needy. This belief, which is reinforced by numerous acts of charity, can actually contribute to the persistence of poverty ...

the focus of their waking hours, so much so that some may fail to neglect their own need for balance in their life. Others know that their need for balance can come in the form of play ... This is inspite of the billions spent on aid to help them ...
