Lesson Plan: Saludos 1 Topic: Saludos (Greetings) Objectives 1.

Students will identify vocabulary and phrases to greet someone and introduce themselves in written form with 100 % accuracy. 2. Students will utilize greeting vocabulary to greet and introduce themselves in oral form in target language with at least 80% accuracy. Anticipatory Set: Students will brainstorm phrases in English they use when they first meet someone. (Example: My name is Nice to meet you, Good afternoon) After a one minute brainstorm, students will share out on what phrases they think are the most important when introducing yourself. Teacher Input: Teacher explains that the students will be learning phrases to introduce themselves and to be polite in Spanish. Teacher instructs students to copy down the vocabulary list from the power point slide into their notebook. They will be filling out the vocabulary with the English translation throughout the class. Teacher continues through the power point, students will guess what the phrases mean based on the context of the dialogue boxes.

Independent Practice : Students will engage in mock introduction using terms introduced in class. There will be guide script provided. As homework write a 4/5 line script between two people as they introduce themselves to each other, similar to the conversations practiced with a partner in class Assessment : Participation in class activity and conversation, completion of written class work and homework assignment. Closure: Students must respond to the question what is your name correctly in target language in oral form in order to exit the class.
