MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN ORGANIZING COMMITTEE, SAROD 2011

The fifth Symposium on Applied Aerodynamics and Design of Aerospace Vehicles - SAROD 2011 is being held during 16-18 November 2011 in Bangalore, the aerospace capital of the country. The primary objective of this event is to bring together aerospace vehicle designers, aerodynamicists, researchers and academicians together to provide a platform to exchange ideas and build upon each other's strength. This Symposium focuses on recent developments in the aerospace vehicle design with emphasis on experimental aerodynamics. The idea of bringing out a directory of aerodynamicists is to enable the community to keep connected beyond SAROD and even other conferences. The first edition of the directory was released during SAROD 2005 at Hyderabad. The present directory is the fourth edition and is being released during SAROD 2011. I thank the concerned members from various organizations for provided their information and the team at ADE for reworking on the entire directory and bringing it on time.

About the Directory The idea of bringing out a directory of Indian Aerodynamicists originated during the organisation of the second edition of SAROD held in 2005 at Hyderabad. The directory was updated and released during the third & fourth edition of SAROD in 2007 at Thiruvananthapuram and 2009 at Bangalore, thus setting a precedence. The directory is further updated with many new additions occured over the past two years. Efforts have been made to minimize the errors and any omission seen is not intentional. This directory is released during the Fifth SAROD held at Eagleton Resorts Bangalore during 16 -18 November 2011.
