How to use the iCERT Messaging Services to Sign and send a file

The first screen that opens is that of the iCERT Verifier, Signer and Encryption module.

Select a directory from the Directory list box. Now select a file from the file box. Right click on the file and we get the menus as shown below:

Double click on the first certificate in the certificate store box and you can see the details of the selected certificate in your certificate store.

DIGITALLY SIGNING A FILE

Select your certificate that would be used for signing the file in the Certificate Store. Left Click on the Sign a File menu. You get a message as below:

Click Yes.

You see the signing information of the file signed by your certificate. ENVELOPE FILE You can encrypt a file using a certificate and send it to a receiver. This file can be opened and seen only by the receiver to whom the certificate belongs. Right click on a selected file and then select Envelope a file. You get notification:

Click Yes.

A Directory windows pops up:

Select the directory and click OK. Upon successful encryption a notification appears:

SEND A SIGNED FILE USING OUTLOOK EXPRESS: You can mail a file directly from the application using outlook express. Right click on the iCERT FTP Services Windows file box.

On the selected file click on send using Outlook Express with signature. The module would sign the selected file and attach the file along with its signature to create a new mail message. You can then fill the subject, the receivers address and the message body for transmission through outlook express.
