Steps to Diagnose the Problem

Call user in charge Verify the followings:
Status of Electricity Supply to the premises Equipment power status (inside NER) LED status & blinking patterns Test SarawakNet connection

Common Problem and Causes

If can ping router LAN gateway (eg: 192.168.13.1) Fault at LAN switch Users PC NIC misconfiguration/faulty If router LAN port LED no light Router LAN port damaged Patch cord damaged Fault at LAN switch (power or port problem) If Internet/WAN port LED no light PoE injector damaged Wireless bridge damaged Router WAN port damaged Backbone cable/ patch cord damaged

Common Problem and Causes

If the main power is available but equipment power is off Power socket switch off/faulty UPS faulty (if connected to UPS) Equipment damaged If the link is up but accessibility is slow/unavailable Wireless bridge signal issue/interference Check other PC on the network SarawakNet proxy setting DHCP server not functioning Application server problem (check with user the detail of accessibility problem)

What to do next?
Guide them to power on/reboot equipment (subject to willingness) Escalate if problem not solve
