Germany went against the treaty of Versailles by sending military troops to the Rhineland. Hitler sent troops in there to break it because he did not approve of them being the blame of everything.

Hitler wanted to protect there German population and they also had resources. Europe was scared of Hitler so they gave in and gave him Czechoslovakia In 1938 Hitler convinced German Czechoslovakia to incite violence so it seems chaotic. British allowed him to control Czechoslovakia so Europe would not have to go back to war.

Invasion of Austria

According to the treaty if versalies Austria and Germany couldnt unite. If a treat was posted towards Austria by Germany Italy would back them up. Since Hitler was born in Austria, but considers himself German. Many Austrians support hitters beliefs. He feels free to basically bully Austria On February 1938, Hitler gave the Austrian chancellor a list of ten demands. one of the biggest demands were to put a man named Seyss-Inquart as minister of the inferior. This man was a Austrian Nazi. Of course, Schuschnigg denied that request. Hitler threatened to send his military troops to invade Austria so Schuschnigg resigned.

On march 1938 he invited German troops into Austria. Austria then became part if the German Greater Reich.

Poland was attacked by September on march 1st 1939. Hitler thought this would bring more living space to the German people. Because he got Poland he was able to make the concentration camps, where more Jews life were taken.

During world war 2 the battle of France also known as the fall of France occurred.
France was a allies with the united states, this makes Hitler look strong and powerful since he was able to successfully take France from the United states.

After Germany took over France they knew they had one more enemy, which was Britain. The battle of Britain was to gain power over the air force. Germany failed and Hitler threatened to go through with an operation called sea lion, which is a air invasion of Britain. This was the first time Germany has ever been defeated during world war 2.

On June 22nd 1941 Germany launched operation Barbarossa. This was a plan to invade a nation that he asked to join the axis. Although Germany and Russia signed a pact in 1931 stating there wouldnt be any trouble or interference between the two. Hitler broke that pact. Germany sent 3,000 tanks, 2,500 aircrafts, and 7,ooo artillery pieces.

The actions of Germany provoked the world to go to war in many ways. Hitler went into territories and just took what ever he wanted. When he took France the united states became scared because France was allies with the united states. Hitler was out of control and I could understand why the world would choose to go to war. When Hitler invaded Russia. He went against them. Just a few months before he asked Russia to join his axis. This was a backstabbing move. Also he went against the treaty of Versailles and invaded Austria. He conquered and made concentration camps, where he killed many people.

1937

On December 1937 the Japanese army went into the capital of china, which is Nanking. They killed 300,000 soldiers and civilians in the city. The Japanese were very bold and cocky. They tried to take over Shanghai at first but they failed. They wanted revenge. Soon after defeating them 50,000 soldiers Japanese soldiers marched into Nanking. Although the Chinese had more soldiers , they were poorly led and organized. On December 13th 1937 the Japanese troops were ordered to kill all captives.

Smiling soldiers can be seen conducting bayonet practice on live prisoners, decapitating them and displaying severed heads as souvenirs, and proudly standing among mutilated corpses. Some of the Chinese POWs were simply mowed down by machine-gun fire while others were tied-up, soaked with gasoline and burned alive ( Gavin)

The attack on pearl harbor was supposed to wipe out the U.S pacific fleet. In 1940, Japan invaded French Indochina. They wanted to control supplies reaching China. The United States stopped the shipments of airplanes, parts, and tools to china. Japan thought this was a act of unfriendliness. They decided to bomb pearl harbor because the united states did not agree with their decisions and they felt like they were befriending them.

FEBRUARY 1945.

Winning iw0 jima was part the United states plans to win the war in the far east. American wanted to destroy Japans merchant fleet so there mainland couldn't be supplied from South East Asia, which Japan still had control over. Iwo jima is a very small pacific island. however they had great tactical importance. They had two airfields which could be used to attack American bombers. America wanted to use this as emergency landing bases for damaged airplanes in the bombing raids. The battle showed how far the Japanese would go to defend their country

The Marines lost 6,891 men killed and 18,070 wounded. Out of the 22,000 Japanese soldiers on the island, only 212 were taken prisoners (Trueman).

1945

The capture of Okinawa was also part of the three-point plan the Americans had for winning the war in the Far East. Americans wanted to destroy what was left of Japans merchant fleet and use airstrips in the region to do bombing raids on Japan. There were 4 airfield on the land that American wanted.

On July 2nd, Okinawa was declared secure by the Americans Ushijima had committed suicide some days before this (Truman).

The actions of Japan provoked the world to go to war because of the attack on pearl harbor. They decided to do this because they felt like America wasn't their friend and also because they wanted to control the shipments to Japan. The wanted to be in control of there own country and did not want to be told what to do. Japan double crossed the treaty. They began to invade and expand. Japan wanted to gain control and be the number one country had had all the power.

The actions of the axis powers provoked the world to go to war because Germany and Japan led a group called the axis. They all just wanted their country to grow and others to get weaker. The axis invaded other territories and expanded their land. Japan double crossed the treaty. They went to conquer . Japan and someone's land that was supposed to be their friend. The axis wanted to gain control and be the number one country had had all the power. The world will need to prepare and be cautious of who they have treaty's with. Someone who you think may be your friend might end up as the enemy. The world will need to have rules and set guidelines for others.
