Grapho Cybernetics A Complete Self-modification program through graphotherapy.

The results of a Grapho Cybernetics program within the personality are stability, harmony and balance without the creation of additional personality conflicts and without the emergence of resistance traits.

Should you make direct changes in your handwriting?

While it is true that Grapho-Cybernetics is handwriting therapy, no direct changes should be made to the handwriting itself, except under the guidance of a professionally trained and experienced grapho-therapist. Some unscrupulous self-styled "grapho-therapists" advocate changing bits and pieces of one's handwriting to strengthen or weaken certain personality traits. They suggest, among other things, elevating the t-bar, underlining the signature, etc. etc.

This is outright dangerous! While so-called handwriting "corrections" may result in a more pleasing writing picture there is, more often than not, pronounced subconscious resistance to the new forms, resulting in excessive tension or serious personality disturbances. This is due to the fact that through letter "corrections" evidence of an "undesirable" trait is eliminated in one place; however, it unknowingly tends to resurface, together with other kinds of resistance traits, in other letters or stroke combinations. The Grapho-Cybernetics program uses carefully designed global exercises without actually changing particular letter forms. One exercise builds upon the previous one. Positive handwriting changes occur involuntarily as the global exercises develop and strengthen positive traits. The results within the personality are emotional, mental, and physical harmony, stability, and balance. Why do the Grapho-Cybernetics exercises work? Startling as it may appear at first exposure to the idea, consistently repeated writing strokes will affect a person's subconscious, either in a positive or negative manner. Dr. Rudolf Pophal, a German neurologist/graphologist has proven through extensive studies that the rhythmic, interactive, repetitive manipulation of thumbs and fingers impacts the brain on both the physiological and psychological level. Repetitive handwriting movements first activate and engage the brain's lower level. This neural data is then transmitted through the emotional brain to the higher brain. Since the brain is plastic, it can be molded and shaped. Through specific handwriting input with the appropriate frequency and duration the brain physically changes structure. This structural change takes place through the growth and branching between brain cells (neurons). When brain structure is changed, the function and behavior of the individual changes also. Brain structure determines function. The concept is by no means new. The Greeks devised an ingenious system of "grapho-therapy," which was of distinct benefit in sports and battle. At the Sorbonne in Paris, France, in 1929, Graphic Psychotherapy was tested clinically by Dr. Pierre Janet and Charles Henry. In Germany, grapho-therapy is used successfully in clinical setting. In the state of Hesse, Germany, elementary schools have successfully used grapho-therapy for the purpose of rehabilitating dyslexic children. Dr. Karohs, who has written 71 books on handwriting analysis, has designed this innovative program. Based upon the knowledge and understanding of this brain plasticity, she has brought handwriting therapy to a new level. Ordering Information :
