The Demo Overview

Dear applicant,

The demonstration that you will deliver is one of the most important factors for you in order to continue the recruitment process at NCA. Please prepare in advance a demonstration that will last for 30 minutes. You may choose a suitable activity of your choice; always keep in mind however the most important things to concentrate on in that demo are the following areas: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) A student centered classroom (very important) Deliver an active, dynamic class. Choose suitable language for lower intermediate learners for your activity. Elicit vocabulary from students. Create a good learning environment Correct mistakes of students. Engage, manage interactions of students motivating them throughout. Maintain an 80%/20% student teacher balance

Teachers need to demonstrate the ability to command a classroom, where active acquisition takes place by the students. Some charismatic teachers will find some of the above mentioned aspects natural, whereas others will have to prepare well, in advance. Please choose topics you feel are suitable for Lower Intermediate level students, avoid any introductory classes, and also avoid grammar explanation. Remember be confident when delivering, take responsibility for time management and never speak in Arabic. Best of luck.
