SECTION-A Q. 1. a) Name and draw sketches for different types of lines used in engineering drawing. Explain their applications in brief. b) Name and draw any five material conventions. c) What do you mean by representative fraction or scale factor? d) What is orthographic system of projections? e) What are principal planes? 2x5=10 SECTION-B Q. 2 Write all the alphabets A to Z and numerals with height 15 mm in ration 7:4 a) Vertical b) Inclined Q. 3. Construct a diagonal scale of RF 1: 2000 to read metres and long enough to measure upto 400 m. Also indicate on the scale a distance of 245 metres. Q. 4. Draw the projection of following points on same XY line a) Point A is 25 mm above HP and 35mm behind VP. b) Pont C is in HP and 40 mm in front of VP. 5x2=10 SECTION-C Q. 5. The distance between two stations is 100 km. A train covers this distance in 2 hours, running on average speed. Construct a plain scale to measure upto a single minute. The RF of the scale is 1/400000. Indicate on this the distance covered in 45 minutes. Q. 6. a) Differentiate between first and third angle projections. b) A point B is 40 mm in front of VP and its shortest distance from XY line is 60 mm. draw the projections of the point and find distance of the point from HP. 1x10=10
