Research Experience
American Indian Student Success Research Team o Qualitative study that will examine the characteristics and attributes that can help American Indian students be successful in reaching higher education and retention.

We have completed a literature review and are currently in the phase of writing to the Internal Review Board to gain permission to complete our project. Working with A.J. Metz and graduate students on this research project formulating interview questions and eventually facilitating the interviews to look for common themes. I will use to help inform my Honors thesis.

Volunteer Work
Office of Minority Health: Youth Empowerment Program-Glendale Junior High February 2013 o Helped lead a focus group to determine the programs objectives. o Worked with the community and parents to help make their school a safer, more welcome place. Somos Foundation/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Gala February 2013 o Help greet families of scholarship recipients and donors, help facilitate silent auction and set up of tables and signage

Lincoln Elementary- Volunteer January- current o Sit in 5th grade class and assist with group work, classroom management and various tasks the teacher may need.
