Experience
Third Grade Teacher James I. Dawson Elementary School, Huntsville, Al September 2012-present

As a third grade teacher at Dawson, I taught reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts, as well as small group instruction for reading and math intervention groups. I created lessons collaboratively with the third grade team, and participated in a multitude of professional development opportunities. Third and Fourth Grade Teacher, Saint James School, Montgomery, Al August 2009-May 2011

As a third grade teacher at an independent college preparatory school, I taught social studies, science, mathematics, and language arts using interactive and engaging lessons. I was moved to fourth grade during the 2010-2011 school year, during which I taught Alabama history, reading, and language arts. I also created standards for fourth grade for the curriculum plan that Saint James added to fulfill Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) suggestions for growth. I taught in classrooms of grades kindergarten through twelfth, including a six week maternity leave at Monrovia Middle School as a sixth grade Reading and English teacher.
