TWCP is a young school within the Conroe Independent School District having started in the fall of 2005.

Since its inception, the school has built on its strong foundation in the areas of academics, student needs, extracurricular activities, and continuing education for its staff. Notable achievements over the past three years have been the inception of the CPHS program, the expansion of AP program, ESL enhancement, and advancement in education by teachers. TWCP's mission statement was developed through a collaborative process involving students, teachers, parents, and community leaders. The mission statement is communicated to all stakeholders through in-service programs, parent programs, web sites, school publications, student/parent orientations, and "Commitment-Pride-Honor&-Success" (CPHS), a weekly character-building program. This program is a mandatory class, held during advisory, for all students. It is curriculum-based and is in its third year of operation. Its general purpose is for students to embody the mission statement, apply it to their lives, and direct them on the path to success. CPHS has been an effective program that the entire school is involved in at the same time. Many of the questions and activities for these lessons were copied or adapted from www.GoodCharacter.com. Following weeks give lessons and time for reflection in topics such as pride, respect, diligence, honesty, grades, courage, discipline, and excellence. These are reviewed each progress report/report card week. In the feedback from last year, many teachers remarked that when they made an effort to apply CPHS to themselves and share their responses with the students. All classes at TWCP are college preparatory. Students are assigned to classes identified as Level, Pre-AP, and Advanced Placement. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves and take courses at a level which they believe will best prepare them for future successes. TWCP recognizes the importance of a rigorous curriculum by encouraging students to participate in the College Board Advance Placement program. Pre-AP courses in core curriculum areas are offered as a preparation for the following Advance Placement courses: Art History; Biology; Calculus AB and BC; Chemistry; Language classes for Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish; Computer Science A; English Literature; Environmental Science; European History; U.S. Government; Human Geography; Macroeconomics; Music Theory; Physics C; Psychology; Spanish Literature; Statistics; Studio Art Drawing, 2D Design, and 3D Design; U.S. History; and World History. Students at TWCP may also participate in dual credit offerings through Lone Star College Montgomery County Branch which may be taken on both the Lone Star-Montgomery campus and the TWCP campus.

The Districts ESL mission is to enhance and accelerate the natural transition of language acquisition from the first language to the second language (English) while ensuring long-term linguistic, affective, and cognitive development. A full-time campus ESL coordinator has been established to help identify ESL students. Through staff development, teachers are instructed on, and how to utilize, the essential knowledge and skills required by the state. In addition, teachers are equipped so that their instructional approaches are designed to meet the needs of these students. TWCP has developed strategies to recruit, retain, and develop highly qualified teachers and staff by participating in District recruitment efforts to these ends. Strategies include providing mentor support for beginning teachers and involving administration in mentor activities. Staff development and development sharing opportunities in all areas are fostered. Training in GT and ESL certification is encouraged. Curriculum teams or partnerships within core academic departments assist in alignment of curriculum. Department meetings are held on a monthly basis with a requirement of 100% participation. Technology classes and in-service training on the implementation of WOW carts, iPads, photo story, streaming video, CPS, Web Page Design, Smartboard, First Class, Document Cameras, Interwrite, PAC, and TAC are help. Teacher-toteacher support systems that are not mentor/mentee related, but colleague support, are in place. One of the more successful and meaningful support systems is the Added Value program which encourages teachers to evaluate their students, target their at-risk students, estimate achievement, and set strategies in collaboration with the department AP.
