A STUDY ON ONLINE SHOPPING BEHAVIOR AMONG PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS IN KERALA Abstract


Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce allowing consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet without an intermediary service. Consumers find a product of interest by visiting the website of the retailer directly or by searching among alternative vendors using a shopping search engine. Online stores are usually available 24 hours a day, and many consumers have Internet access both at work and at home. The increasing use of Internet by the younger generation in India provides an emerging prospect for online retailers.Professional students becoming more tech savvy easily adapts recent trends in online retailing. With more and more people becoming internet users in todays world, there has been great increase in online shopping websites all over the country. This study is an attempt to investigate the online purchase behavior of a key segment of the population, the Professional Students. A self-administered questionnaire, based on prior literature, was developed and a total of 100 professional students from different professional colleges of cochin were selected by random sampling. Students were selected from cochin because it is the industrial capital of kerala
