Word Problems (circles and ellipses)

1) A semi-circular tube that has a radius of 7 ft is sitting on the ground. Abby is a blockhead. Her head is 2 feet wide and she is 5.5 feet tall!!! Abby never pays attention and walks with her head turned around so she doesnt see where she is walking. Is it possible for Abby to accidentally walk into the tunnel without hitting her head (assume she does not slouch when she walks)

2) Same question as #1, except its a semi-elliptical tube that is 7 ft tall and 12 feet wide.

3) You are sitting in a room that has an elliptical ceiling. You are 25 five feet from the center of the room (on the major axis of course). Abby is also 25 feet from the center the other direction. And you can hear EVERYTHING she says no matter how quiet she talks because you two are standing on the foci The room happens to be 70 feet in total length along the major axis. How tall is the highest point of the ceiling?
