Course Units Prerequisite Semester/SY Instructor & Department Head Dean Course Description : : : : : : CE 45-Hydraulics 3 MECH 41-Fluid Mechanics Second Semester, 1997-1998 Engr. Tomas U. Ganiron Jr, MSCE Engr. Jose M. Segovia, MSEE

This course deals with the analysis and hydraulic design of by systems such as reservoirs dams, spillways, gates, open channels, pipe networks, pumps and turbines; sediment transport in rivers and reservoir. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to do the following: 1. Develop a good understanding of the principles of water behavior under the influence of forces. 2. Understand the principles involving physical ideas, as well as mathematical ones, and includes derivations and analysis of resulting equations which describe water behavior. 3. Develop skills in solving practical problems, which involve numerical calculations from working formulas used for hydraulic analysis design.
