! An overarching view of where and how the school will use ICT tools and resources to enhance learning and teaching and prepare learners for the modern world e.g.
! ICT is fundamental to daily life in the Third Millennium. Thus it is essential that all learners gain the skills, confidence and abilities to use ICT effectively to learn, communicate and create in order to prepare them for the challenges of the technological world. The use of ICT will enhance and extend learning throughout the school and beyond whilst developing motivation, social skills and safe use of the available tools.

! ICT skills of everyone in the school so that they are confident and independent users ! Interactive learning for adults and children through a wide range of technologies ! Independent learning for life

! Policy Aims and Objectives


! For learners to be confident and effective users of ICT we will:

Provide all pupils with their statutory ICT curriculum entitlement Ensuring all children to use ICT with purpose and enjoyment whilst increasing their motivation and confidence Enable pupils to participate in a rapidly changing world. Use ICT tools to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information responsibly, creatively and with discrimination. Support pupils with special educational needs to increase their independence in all areas of the curriculum. Develop flexible learners able to and take advantage of future developments in ICT. Encourage and enable learners to take greater responsibility for their own learning and provide opportunities for them to: use ICT widely in their work. Talk about their use of ICT and their use of in a range of contexts. Access resources through discriminating use of online services Use ICT to develop partnerships beyond the school Become autonomous users of ICT

! Determine how ICT will support, enrich and extend the curriculum ! Ensure the provision and allocation of resources ! Ensure that an improvement plan is in place and monitored ! Ensure that ICT is used effectively to achieve and enhance the aims and objectives of the school;

! ICT Leader ! Support and promote the use of ICT throughout learning and teaching ! Manage the provision and deployment of resources and give guidance on classroom organisation ! Act as a contact point between the school and support services ! Maintain up to date and in-depth knowledge of curricular ICT ! Ensure that there is progression and continuity in ICT across the school ! Ensure that record keeping and assessment procedures are in place ! Provide in service training, coaching and mentoring as and when required. ! Review, develop and maintain a scheme of work.

! E-safety learning and teaching ! ICT assessment ! Infrastructure hardware, software and online resources (including maintenance, replacement and upgrade) ! Internet Acceptable Use Policy for staff, pupils and visitors ! Data Protection and Freedom of Information (FoI)
